Walking Holiday in Captivating Cape Verde
Walking Holiday on the Captivating Cape Verde Islands

Everything ran smoothly from start to finish and was good value for money. Every walk was a highlight in its own way. We've been on many guided group holidays with several different companies and Odair is probably the best guide we've encountered.

Rolwaling Valley Trek and Climb - Yalung Ri

Whole trip was superb, pre departure, location, guiding, food, accommodation, travel. Tour leader was very experienced and fantastic at managing the welfare and enjoyment of every individual on the trip and all of the support team. He really made the trip a success and it was a privilege to benefit from his experience and knowledge of the mountains. Completely trusted him to get us to the top and the mountain safely.

The Black Neck Cranes and the Royal Orchid Trek
Black Necked Cranes and Royal Orchid Trek
I consider most of the trips provided by KE to have a good itinerary for the cost. This trip to Bhutan had a great balance between hiking and culture, Jigme our guide was outstanding.

All questions pertaining to our trip were answered quickly and accurately. I believe your sales team is customer focused.

This was our 13th trip with KE and ranks as one of the top two trips we have taken. The hiking was spectacular, and the cultural interactions were something we did
n't believe possible, perhaps due to the small size of our group, five after the two had to drop out. I would highly recommend this trip to any adventurous traveller.

Vietnam is a welcoming country, everybody was very friendly. The group was a varied mixed of abilities so it was useful that Shi had support in Quang, who was learning the ropes from Shi on our trip. Mr Tu, our driver was amazing, the mountain passes never presented an issue, neither did the mopeds, and there was alot of mopeds! The walks were diverse, with the most stunning views and the trip though the bay was unforgettable.

A great mixture of traditional, modern, city and country side.
Japan: Nakasendo Trail and Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage

My husband and I traveled with KE in October to Japan. So much of the trip depends on a flexible and knowledgeable guide and Pietro was that and more. He was so knowledgeable on the country, culture, food, traditions and landscape of all of the various areas we visited in Japan. The accomocatiions, food and itinerary were all great. Would highly recommend this trip.

Amazing Experience
Bike Jordan Dead 2 Red
First, this was beyond our expectations. As usual we were humbled by not only the difficulty in biking but how amazing the people of Jordan are and their country.
The biking was no joke! Days of steep 30% incline, long days of pedaling and exciting down hills. Sand that destroys your joy and leaves you walking with your bike. Day 2 is very difficult, but rewarding.
Food was fun experience especially if you are a chicken and rice person. They just change the name of the dish to ma
ke you think you’re getting something besides chicken and rice. But we were very well fed!!!!
Scenery, let’s be honest, I felt that I was on Tatooine and Mars at the same time. Sienna is a lovely color but it’s their only color. Wadi Rum made up for that with its amazing sunset and rise. But get used to rocks and dirt.
People of Jordan are some of the nicest I’ve ever met. Always inviting us in for tea and just curious about why we would be biking.
Guides Omar and Mo’men were fantastic! They were not only pros at the bike but were just fun to hang out with! Omar pushed me hard and has given me a reason to strive to be better biker. He was patient and professional, and made us feel safe and secure. He went out of his way to get us some medication from the pharmacy and took care of needs on and off the bike. He worked very hard to ensure we had a great time and we loved our time with him. Mo’men was always there to feed us, water us and make sure our bikes were in shape. He was kind and patient, and did so much behind the scenes. Fadi was amazing and so funny! The driver (can’t remember his name, sorry) was kind and professional.
If you are debating whether to do this trip, debate no more and sign up! It’s worth every bit and you get to see country that you wouldn’t see as a normal tourist and more importantly meet people that are friendly and welcoming. We felt immersed in the culture throughout the trip. This is definitely one of the best trips we’ve taken and had an absolute blast!

An interesting and varied trip through dramatic landscapes
Oman Adventure Trekking
Oman is a fascinating country and this trip gives you the chance to see a wide range of places from wadis to desert to the modernity of Muscat.

Most of the walking is not that challenging with the exception of the two long days at the end. The trek on day 7 involves a lot of ascent and is hard work but is perfectly possible for somebody reasonably fit. All of our group found the penultimate day’s walk a challenge. The last three hours are a relentless descent on steep and rocky
paths where you have to concentrate to avoid falling and, combined with the heat, that made it a very tiring day. You really do need to carry a lot of water.

The camping is basic and be prepared for heat and the dust, a flannel and a collapsible bowl are good additions to the packing list. However, the fact that there is a hotel stay in the middle of the week gives a very welcome respite from the privations of camping.

On our trip, the combination of the guide having to do the cooking and the heat making it hard to provide fresh food meant some of the meals were sparse. Anyone with a decent appetite or sweet tooth should bring snacks or buy provisions at the supermarkets on the way.

Overall it was a great trip with some amazing dramatic landscapes and glorious sunsets and sunrises, along with encounters with racing camels, wild donkeys and processions of goats. The canyons and mountains were stunning and beautiful in a barren, spiky way and the chance to swim in the pools in the wadi, alongside a host of frogs, was a glorious refreshing surprise. The final night camping on the beach with a dawn swim in warm sea was pure bliss.

Chulu Far East and the Hidden Valleys of Naar and Phu

Everything about the trip went well. from the overall organisation to the high quality and experience of the guiding/portering team and climbing team. The accommodation was generally good and comfortable and the food quality and choice was excellent. The trek was well structured from an acclimatisation p.o.v. and as a consequence we had no bouts of altitude sickness when it mattered.

Fabulous trip. Well organised trip from beginning to end.
The Ultimate Everest Trek

We visited the Himalayas 26years ago but this trip exceeded our expectations so thank you. Phurba was an amazing guy who looked after us and genuinely cared about how we were all getting on. There were a few of us with some minor illness and he looked out every day to see how we were improving. He was very supportive and I felt totally confident and safe with him as my guide. A holiday I shall never forget.

An Experience not to be missed!
Bike Jordan Dead 2 Red
A super trip full of new sights and adventures. Pretty tough cycling and failrly hot even in early November so a lot of sunscreen or long sleeves useful. A hard days's climb on Day 3 so be prepared for strong sun, no wind, flies and a 3 hour climb uphill. Not all the group made it and the van is always around to give people a lift. Good support crew and plenty of snack stops. Beware if vegetarian so bring your own protein bars as most meals will just be veg/hummous/aubergine mousse/eggs/sal ad. The night in the desert is a real treat. I stayed over for a day to look around Amman which was also another very interesting experince.

An incredible experience!
Annapurna Sanctuary and Poon Hill Trek
This is an incredible trek through the spectacularly beautiful country of Nepal. The Nepalese people are generous spirited and welcoming and this was exemplified by our wonderful guide Sujan, the support staff Suku and Dale and our amazing porters. Their sense of fun, friendship and professionalism really made this trip; knowledgeable, caring, attentive and rightly proud of their glorious country.

The trekking (as almost everyone has said) is a lot of ascent and a lot of descent
- mostly on stone steps - with 'Nepalese Flat' in between. It's perfectly manageable for regular hill-walkers as the pace is well-managed (bistari, bistari) with plenty of rest stops and opportunities to drink in the outstanding scenery. If you're not used to hill-walking I would highly recommend getting some up-and-down training in before you go.

The itinerary is well thought out giving seven days to get to Annapurna Basecamp which allows for good acclimatisation although you may well notice the reduced oxygen as you climb towards ABC! It also gives the opportunity to experience beautifully varied landscapes from rice fields through jungle, past crystal clear streams and on to the higher mountain terrain. The early start for Poon Hill is SO worth it. We were incredibly lucky to get stunningly clear skies. It was my partner's 'big birthday' and hard to imagine a more special place to be to celebrate it. ABC itself defies description. The scale, beauty and utterly serene. sacred, spiritual majesty of these high Himalayan mountains has to be experienced to be believed. No photos can actually do it justice.

Food on the trek is plentiful and good quality although does become a bit repetitive but when you see the porters carrying heavy loads of supplies up and down all those stone steps you feel a great sense of gratitude to be getting such substantial meals! Definitely eat the Dal Bhat - 24 hour power! Regarding water, we used water-to-go bottles for all our drinking water (and teeth cleaning) and had no stomach problems at all. In fact none of our group had upset stomachs.

If you can, go a day early. We had an extra day at the start and the kaleidoscope of colour, cacophony and chaos that is Kathmandu is an incredible experience for all the senses!

I can't think of any negatives for this trip. It will leave you with memories to last a lifetime and a yearning to go back again to stunning Nepal and her beautiful people.

A sensory smorgasbord!
Vietnam from North to South
From beginning to end, this trip did not fail to excite and impress. The variety of experiences was huge. From the tranquility of the countryside and homestays in the jungle, where many aspects of life may not have changed in generations to the crazy, busy cities. The food was excellent everywhere. Our local guide, Hien, was outstanding and went out of his way to ensure everyone enjoyed the best and most authentic experience of Vietnam. For sure, it is a "full on" busy holiday with a lot of travelling and not much down time. At times the heat and humidity took what was a moderate amount of exercise and exertion up several notches. We arrived a day early for the tour and would recommend a visit to Hoa Lo prison (Maison Centrale) in Hanoi (not included in KE trip) which gives an account of 150 years of Vietnamese history and which complemented organised visits to Cho Chi tunnels and museums in HCMC - all were thought provoking and at times, emotional experiences. In the main, however, the tour celebrated the wonderful and varied country that Vietnam is today. Top tip: pack super lightly - there were opportunities for quick, cheap and easy laundry along the way... Highly recommend.

Sun, sea, and seafood
Timeless Trails of Portugal's Algarve
A good relaxed week walking with a good dose of November sunshine. Set off around 10 each day and back to the accommodation mid-afternoon - not too long, but some climbs up and down inlets each day. Good sea views and opportunity to dip in the sea from time to time.

Sleeping accommodation was comfortable and warm while central area provided a welcoming place for everyone to gather.

Food was really exceptionally good. Evening meals had lots of tasty vegetables along
with meat or fish. Rolls for lunch had tasty salad bits and pickles along with meat, cheese or tuna. Breakfast had an ample selection of fresh fruit and yogurt; meats and cheese; rolls; and on many days Pastels de Nata.

Annapurna Sanctuary and Poon Hill Trek

Competitive pricing, good routes, good local guides, good use of local amenities. Package including flight is less hassle if any issues.

Sujan is a knowledgeable leader with a vast knowledge of his country and culture and the mountains. He was able to deliver the information in interesting ways that allowed us to understand many aspects of Nepal. He also has a lovely sense of humour and obvious caring and compassion for the group and crew as a whole.
