Outstanding snowshoeing in stunning and varied landscapes
Snowshoeing in Canada and Yellowstone National Park
This was an excellent snowshoeing holiday with a great variety of experiences. The mountain scenery in the Canadian Rockies is extremely impressive. The geothermal phenomena at Yellowstone are extraordinary, and there are excellent opportunities to see wildlife. Many people say that Yellowstone is at its best in winter, with many fewer visitors, and with the steam from the geysers and hot springs condensing as a frosting round the trees. Jérémi was a wonderful guide who communicated his ... passion for the environment and the outdoors, and worked tirelessly to give the group the best possible experience. He adapted well to quirky English senses of humour, and even gave us a quite unexpected but very welcome education in North American craft beer!

Snowshoeing in Spectacular Pyrenees, including the ascent of Montardo (2833m)
High Level Pyrenees Snowshoe Holiday
A full 5 days of snowshoeing, with the first 2 providing the chance to learn avalanche rescue techniques and to get used to walking with snowshoes. Despite little snow cover on the lower slopes at the start of the week, our guide chose routes that provided a sense of achievement without being too demanding. The following 3-day hut-to-hut expedition provided a superb adventure experience in the heart of the Pyrenees, through remote and dramatic scenery with the chance to reach the summit of ... Montardo (2833m). Staying in a mountain hut is a great experience, with excellent food and plenty of atmosphere. Snowshoeing techniques are relatively easy to acquire, but it is advisable to have a good level of hiking fitness to be able to enjoy the experience while carrying a rucksack. Compatibility among the group contributed to a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

Wonderful country & fantastic hospitality. Amazing wild scenery & walking.
Oman Adventure Trekking

Amazing wild country where we enjoyed fantastic hospitality from locals & the trek crew. A range of walking from relaxing half days to strenuous extended day challenging experiences. This is a trip where a lot is crammed into a short time seeing some really interesting sights (ancient forts, mosques) & experiencing wild walking through gorges & over huge mountain vistas. Be prepared for a lot of driving too which at times can be tiring & after a while not particularly enjoyable.

Exhilarating snowshoeing - superb views
Queyras Snowshoe Winter Paradise

A plethora of full day routes exist within short drives from the accommodation situated in a quiet village. The walks are certainly more strenuous than those of 'Chablais Traverse' but completely doable for fit people. Most of the walks ended in or close to picturesque villages, all with a welcome bar or cafe. This trip would suit experienced or beginner snowshoers but some of the climbs are relentless and steep. Stamina and fitness will be required.

Awesome place to snowshoe. Great trip
Mont Blanc Snowshoe Week

Yeti Lodge is a great location, and being in Argentiere was perfect. Jo and the girls at the lodge made us feel very welcome. Our guide, Emma, was an absolute dream - she kept us safe, and adjusted the walks to fit with some very changeable conditions. Magic stuff. One of my favourite KE experiences.

Exceeded expectations
Chamonix Snowshoe Short Break
I have been on a number of climbing/trekking trips to the Alps in summer but was keen to go out in winter. As a non skier this fitted the bill superbly. The published itinerary was quite easy but our guide Mark recognised that the group were capable of more and flexed the days so that they were more challenging, Mark was an excellent guide and for a couple of days was joined by an Aspirant Tim who was also good fun. We were lucky in that we had two days where there were clear views of the ... mountains and one day when there was a lot of snow which added to the variety. Was impressed with our group hotel the Aguille de Midi in Les bossons. Really good five course dinners and comfortable surrounds.

La Gomera winter walking provided an excellent and varied programme of walks.
La Gomera - Jewel of the Canaries
The La Gomera winter walking week provided an excellent and varied programme of walks through rain forests, ridges, woods, terraces and coastal paths. Our guide was outstanding. Enekoiz is a local who helped us understand the history, cultural, diet and special features of the ecosystem. The hotel rooms were all good (one hotel was a little chilly but a heater was provided and lots of spare blankets.) Food was plentiful, varied and good... some restaurants better than others of course. A great ... winter geta-away... good fairly challenging walking whilst a relaxed pace and stress free.

Fantastic walking holiday on Lanzarote
Walking Lanzarote - The Island of Eternal Spring
This was my first ever walking holiday and it certainly won't be my last. This was an extremely well organised and enjoyable walk across the island - around 50 miles in 5 days - with a bonus day visiting a small island at the end. The scenery was generally breathtaking and there were visits at the end of each day to local attractions. Our guide Andy was superb, incredibly knowledgeable and patient. The accommodation was very comfortable, and food generally excellent - including a variety of ... lunch picnics daily, as well as a different restaurant visit nightly. I would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone who likes walking in a warm climate.

fantastic family holiday
Morocco Family Adventure Desert Trek

It was our first trip to morocco, so we didn't really know what to expect. We had a brilliant time. The guide, cook and camel drivers looked after well. The scenery and weather were fantastic. we didn't want to come home.

A great mini adventure and the start of something beautiful
Mount Teide Weekend - Tenerife
This was my first trip with KE Adventure and also my first time at altitude so held a lot of the unknown for me. The experience though was excellent. The booking process was simple and the team at KE very helpful and supportive. The web site was easy to use and the trip was soon booked for my wife and I. We booked our own flights but the arrival times were outside the suggested normal times from KE but this was fine with KE and they arranged alternative transfers very efficiently and at a very ... good price. Once on the ground in Tenerife we were met at the accommodation by our very friendly and helpful guide who showed us in and got us settled. The accommodation was basic but clean, tidy and secure with adequate facilities. The group meal that evening was excellent and very relaxed and the two guides joined us and it gave everyone a good opportunity to get to know each other and for the guides to understand our abilities. The next two days were fabulous, the guide knew his stuff with lots of information about the hike and the surrounding area. The pace was good and we both felt in good, safe hands. The food supplied for the hike was simple but certainly good enough to keep us going. The two day hike was everything we had hoped, challenging, enjoyable and great fun with an amazing sense of achievement and some great photo opportunities. The final meal on the last evening was again simple but very tasty in a local restaurant and a great way to finish off a lovely weekend. As a result of this trip I am to be booking up some more trips with KE and will also return to Tenerife at some point, it is a beautiful island.

A tough but rewarding winter walking holiday.
Mount Toubkal in Winter
Mount Toubkal in Winter - we had a bit more winter than anticipated! Heavy snow meant that our first attempt on the summit failed and we spent a frustrating day in the Neltner refuge watching more snow fall. However, the next day was bright and cold and we made the summt - amazing views in all directions. Our guides were great & our group was friendly and supportive. Be aware that the Neltner refuge is very basic, especially the bathrooms, and the beds are damp. Take plenty of ... anti-bacterial handwipes and plastic bags!!

A great winter cycling holiday in the sun
Tour of Gran Canaria
We had two friendly riding guides and one van with our main guide, Ray, and a driver in support. That was four people supporting our group. On our trip, one of the riding guides was an ex-pro, which was a real bonus (tips and advice). Hotels were always acceptable and on two occasions, far more than I would have expected on this type of holiday ... really good. The included breakfast and dinner was always buffet, which meant you could have as much as you want, and the food quality was always ... good. Format of the holiday was to my liking, touring round the island and including many of the classic climbs. Everybody in our group managed all of the climbs, so they were challenging, but doable. Excellent holiday.

Trekking through the dunes.

This was a great trip. Our guide Hassan, our cook Ali, and the other 3 helpers were fantastic. The trekking portion of the trip was for four days and covered roughly 50 miles/80 kilometers. We averaged roughly 7 hours per day of trekking. The dunes ranged from small to the 2 tallest in the Moroccan Sahara. Overall 5 stars for the beauty, and hospitality. Word of note bring more water than you think, and prepare for the potential for blisters on your feet.

Age is no barrier to experiencing the Himalayas
Annapurna in Luxury - Hodgson
Our journey began with a trip to Heathrow then on to Katmandu via Muscat. The plane was delayed due to freezing weather conditions in London and consequently we were delayed arriving in Muscat and missed our connection to Katmandu. We were put on the next flight 5 hours later. This caused a little consternation and we tried to contact the agent in Nepal to advise of our late arrival. It later turns out that I was texting a fax machine! However, we need not have worried as our guide for the next ... week was patiently waiting for us once we cleared immigration formalities in Nepal. Backing up somewhat, I was somewhat anxious of the arrival procedures for arriving in Katmandu after reading several on line accounts of horrific lines and procedures. In fact all was pretty straightforward and we rapidly found ourselves in the baggage claim area. However, a couple of tips for arriving, number one is download a copy of the visa application form and have it filled in before arriving, number two is make sure you keep a hold of your baggage tags and number three is do not pay for a trolley, they are free. Our guide was waiting patiently with his KE sign and pretty soon we were whisked away to our hotel, The well known Yak and Yeti. Again our guide, Rinzi Sherpa, took care of all formalities and before we knew it we were in our room. However, the day was not over as Rinzi took us out to a nearby restaraunt for dinner. It was quickly apparent that the people were very friendly and courteous and only too willing to help in anyway possible. The next day we were picked up at 8:30,after a filling breakfast in the hotel, and taken to the airport for a domestic flight on Yeti Airlines to Pokhara, the base for our "trek". The flight was only 30 minutes but it afforded wonderful views of the high Himalayan ranges. Rinzi had already arranged for us to sit on the right of the plane to get the best views. This was typical of the man, always striving to ensure we enjoyed the best of experiences. On arrival in Pokhara we were again transferred to another lovely hotel, The Atithi. After a quick lunch we were off into town and a trip to the Peace Stupa on the opposite side of the lake on which Pokhara stands. In the evening we had dinner on the lakeside and this was our first encounter with Dahl Bat. Undoubtedly one of the culinary highlights of a Nepal trip, I quickly found out that the secret to eating this local dish is not to eat everything offered to you but be selective, which unfortunately I did not work out until about the fifth time of asking. There is nothing wrong with the food just the volume! The next morning was our first serious encounter with the local driving. The trip on a mini bus to our first trekking point up the valley of the Modi Kola was interesting but after an hours drive we arrived at our start point and away we went on a 6 km walk. This started 4 days of wonderful walking in lush valleys and forests, climbing ancient stone steps and visiting friendly rustic villages of local Gurum people. To cap each day we stopped at beautiful "luxury" lodges where wonderful food was served by exemplary staff, who just could not do enough for us. As the sun went down and temperatures dropped it was an absolute delight to savour the local brew, either Gurkha or Everest beer, both of which can be highly recommended. The only problem with the trekking was the fact that it was over so quickly. Before we knew it we were back at the airport in Katmandu waiting for our transfer to Baratpur and our journey out to the Chitwan National park. Yet again our hosts were magnificent and our accommodation was luxurious in every sense. On arrival we were quickly given our activity itinerary and before we knew it we were walking with elephants in the national park "buffer" zone, and we quickly had an unforgettable experience when we came face to face with two rhinoceroses! Next morning we had a sail down the local river which was quite every as the mist rolled over it and crocodiles slithered into the murky depths. Yep, another memorable experience but more was still to follow when we entered the national park proper for a jeep safari in search of tigers! However, the tigers remained hidden, but Danny our experience guide showed us evidence of their presence in the form of deep scratches on trees and tracks imprinted on the soft sand. However, there was still plenty of wildlife to enjoy and the highlight was the spotting of two elusive Indian bison. Again this was over too quickly and before we knew it we were back in Katmandu and on our way home. All in all it was a wonderful trip to an amazing country full of friendly, courteous people. OK, there are issues but once you've got through the hustle and bustle of the big city the charms are endless. There are problems but my only suggestions for the trip are really only logistical. Number one is that for the transfer between Chitwan and the airport the vehicle should be of a better vintage with proper seat belts. For the journey in misty, murky conditions along a very busy road we were totally reliant on the driver who did a great job bobbing and weaving through all sorts of other road users as they appeared through the mist. Secondly, I would suggest that a day room is made available for guests transiting back to Katmandu who arrive in late morning, early afternoon who have to wait for evening flights out of Nepal. However, all in all I can only praise all those involved in providing this wonderful adventure. Especially I would like to praise Rinzi, our porter Mattbad and Danny our wildlife guide down at Tiger Tops. Would we do it again.........dam right we would.

A challenging high winter peak :guides enabled whole group to summit .Safe!
Mount Toubkal in Winter

5 full days of challenging winter walking. Excellent guidance on use of Ice axe and crampons. Perfect pace for those of us that got puffed out- due to altitude. Use of zig zags up steep snow really helped to keep a positive outlook- we could and did keep moving! And being able to slide some of the way back down was great.-and properly supervised. Fantastic mountain scenery- that part is not to KE`s credit- but never mind!

An excellent winter trip
Bulgarian Snowshoe Adventure
Very good local leader (Ivor). Good accommodation and food throughout. We were blessed by outstanding weather and conditions. Thoroughly recommended. Improvements: a group of 12 needs more than one leader. If anything had gone wrong, (eg, a fall) then there is no way one leader could have dealt with it alone, however competent. This is an accident waiting to happen. I would like KE's thoughts on this. Recommendations: advise that on arrival local currency must be purchased in Sofia, where there ... is a currency exchange in the airport and lots of ATM's near the hotel. Once away from Sofia there is nothing. (my advice would be about £100) Advise on the recommended tip for leader and driver. Also need to add that our driver for the week was also excellent. Advise to take swimwear for jacuzzi/sauna at the accommodation.

KE Adventure reply

Thank you for your review and we are pleased that you enjoyed your holiday. In answer to your query: Should an accident have occurred, help was always a phone call away. There is good mobile signal throughout the Vitosha National Park and in the Rila mountains. There are excellent mountain rescue services in this area and a casualty would be evacuated very quickly by the rescue teams, either by skidoo or helicopter depending on the location and severity of the accident. The response to a serious injury would be the same irrespective of the number of leaders. Thank you also for your tips on changing money.

Amazing Kiruna, recommended
Sweden Arctic Family Adventure
Myself and my family (wife and two kids 13 & 11) Just got back from 5 nights in Kiruna, right at the top of Sweden, what an amazing trip! From the first enquire to KE they were everything you want from a tour company, so helpful and very patient with a nervous traveller, the best customer service I have come across in a very long time. Everything on the trip went to plan, cross country skiing, dog sled, Ice Hotel, Snow shoeing and of course Snowmobiles. Sufficient time set a side to ... recover, a very good balance. The hotel is excellent, amazing (posh) food, great service. A few things worth knowing, the town centre of Kiruna is bleak and not worth a visit, wine and beer prices are off the scale and the lodges could do with a lot more storage. Book this trip now, you will not be disappointed, recommended...
