Brilliant holiday, well organised and with excellent guides
Climb Mont Blanc and Gran Paradiso

Excellent holiday in the Alps - despite adverse weather and safety conditions on Mont Blanc, we climbed various peaks on Monte Rosa as an alternative. The Grad Paradiso trip and traverse of the Valle Blanche were also spectacular.

The guides were knowledgeable, informative and had lots of experience.

Overall an fun, adventurous and interesting trip - I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

a pleasant walking holiday
Classic Tour du Mont Blanc
I had great time for this adventure holiday. Trip guide Gary is very nice & knowledgeable. Our whole trip mates of seven got along very well & had lots of laughs together.
There are some improvement can be done. The hotel "Auberge du Mont-Blanc" on 8/27 was not pleasant. Small & almost nothing in the room other than beds. Multiple shared shower & bathroom was very inconvenient. Dining table space was jam packed & you couldn't even open your arms to eat.
Hope the lunch sandwich has more variety other than ham & cheese except tuna sandwich was offered on the first day only.
Otherwise,it's a very nice trip to remember. I enjoyed it very much.

Volcanos and lava
Iceland Complete Highlands Explorer

Participants should be aware the huts are crowded and noisy. There is a fair amount of driving. The rest of the trip is wonderful. Great hikes, wonderful scenery and some time to wander around the beautiful places we stopped.

Superbly led tour by Marion. Classic hillwalking itinerary. One dodgy mtn hut.
One Week Mont Blanc to Matterhorn - Private Sadler

Superb itinerary. Very well led by our guide, Marion. Accommodation variable including below standard mountain hut at Cabane de Prafleuri - no showers available and light in dormitory requiring a token - not appropriate.

Fanstatic Insight to 3 countries
This is an ideal trip for people that wish to combine sightseeing with walking. The itinerary enables you to see the highlights of these countries in a short amount of time. There is a good mix of city and countryside and cultural sights. We were a small group of 3 and were happy with the pace of the trip. We felt we spent enough time in each country and were not rushed through the sights. Our kind Guoda was an excellent source of information and history everywhere we went and added a few extra activities to the itinerary like the Hill of Crosses and a walk in the Gauja National Park. Food and drink is reasonably priced and the guidelines set out by KE were appropriate. There was a good choice of food options throughout the trip. If your time allows it is worth arriving in Vilnius a day ahead of the trip to spend more time in the city. Likewise if you have time its worth spending an extra day or two in Tallinn and getting the ferry to Helsinki for a day or a night at the end of the trip.

Lanmanalaugar trek
Classic Laugavegur Trail Trek
A great experience covering over 50 Kms of outstanding natural beauty. The route is as described in various journals and guides, but breath taking when you see it for real. If you are a keen and regular walker then this route is not challenging and can be undertaken by anyone with a good level of fitness. Do not underestimate the value of good gear though. The weather can and is very changeable very quickly. Good gear is the order of the day. The huts are well kitted out, and the only critici sm I would have is how many people they squeeze into them. Makes for unpleasant nights when they are full; particularly when it has been raining and everyone Is trying to get gear dried.

Final day was a waste of time. All on the trip agreed that had we known Friday would involve sitting waiting all day for a bus, we would have requested a seat on the last bus the night before, giving us more time in Reykjavik, and opportunities to see more of Iceland. Either offer the extension from Thorsmork to Scogar, making Friday a real walking day, or advertise as 3.5 days and get people back to Reykjavik on the Thurs.

Fantastic scenery and great walking
Trekking the Ridges & Summits of Bulgaria
A great two centre trek in both the Rila and Pirin Mountains. The grade was about right, and all the walks were easily achievable by a reasonably fit 68 year old, although the last day where we traversed the Concheta Marble Ridge and another peak too, was quite tough. The hotels were excellent, the food good and there was a good ambiance the whole time. Ivo, the guide, was a good professional mountain guide, but he needs to learn to make allowances for the occasional slightly iffy behaviour, and not then escalate the situation. One trekker paddled in one of the mountain lakes, and got a very severe and public telling off (she hadn't realised that no swimming also meant no paddling), and the next day, mistakenly started to enter the telesiege area before being briefed. This time her bollocking was in private, and she came back in tears, which the rest of the group thought was pretty stiff. Otherwise, no complaints, and a great, good value holiday, which I recommend whole heartedly.

KE Adventure reply

Thank you for your review and we are glad you had a great holiday. The area of the Seven Lakes is protected as a “reduced human impact zone” where you are allowed only to walk on the marked paths and Ivo had briefed the group on this. We have since been in contact with the trekker in question to apologise for any upset caused and despite this incident, she has been generously complimentary in her feedback for Ivo.

Excellent walking holiday with beautiful scenery and weather was great.
Best of the Tour du Mont Blanc
Really good walking holiday around Mont Blanc with a shorter route for those who don't have the time for the full 10 day trip. I think we covered the real highlights, food and accommodation were good , scenery was fantastic, and we got lucky with the weather. Only negative comment that I have was that I was paired up with person of opposite sex without any advance knowledge and luckily my roommate turned out to be great but would have appreciated some advance information on this so single s ex travelers beware and you may want to inquire about this before your trip begins.

KE Adventure reply

We are pleased that you had a good holiday and we sincerely apologise that you were roomed with a person of the opposite sex. This was an error on the accommodation list which we were unaware of until your feedback. This is not KE policy and we have taken action to ensure this cannot happen in future. We are sorry that this mistake was not rectified at the time and are glad that in this instance your roommate turned out to be great.

Amazing experience and incredible views!
Italian Summit Climber
The Italian Summit Climber is a new holiday and I joined the first trip. We were very lucky with the weather - only one day of rain/clouds/fog which happened to be the day we approached the glacier. However, once on the glacier we had sun, blue skies and no wind. The views were some of the best I have ever seen. There were 4000 meter peaks everywhere you looked. The climbing was slow and steady and there were some challenging ascents. My guide, Kathy Murphy is "wonder woman"!    She took great care of us, making sure we were all safe and set a great pace. And let's not forget about the food in the Italian Huts - the best in all of Europe! The service and hospitality in the huts we also first rate. I have been on over 20 KE trips and this ranks as one of my best.

Great Trip to Turkey
Trek the High Taurus Mountains and Cappadocia

Amazing trip to Turkey, trekking through the High Taurus mountains in Aladaglar National Park and exploring and experiencing the beauty and history of Cappadocia. The crew was really great, particulary our guide Ibraham who was very flexible, always up for fun, and had an incredible knowledge about the history of the country and the religion.

Phenomenal Experience
Classic Tour du Mont Blanc

What a fantastic trip! We were SO lucky to have Gary Daines as our guide plus a wonderful group of fellow trekkers - 50% of the pleasure came from the camaraderie of our group and the other 50% from the incredible personal physical challenge, scenery and other folks we met along the way. Certainly a trip of a lifetime for me. Thank you SO much KE!

Challenging Climbs, Scenic Summits, Daring Descents, Great Group, Top Trip
Geneva to Nice Road Cycle
A classic route over famous Tour cols with a friendly and diverse group ranging in age from 18 to me at 70. What was not to like. This was my 3rd KE trip and certainly the toughest, but equally enjoyable. The experience was enhanced by excellent organisation by KE and specially courtesy of our brilliant guide Mandy, who together with her unflappable assistant Jens, ensured the whole trip was fun, and went smoothly. From the daily detailed route maps, instructions and profiles, through strategic snack and water stops, excellent picnic lunches, and regular en-route support, to having room keys and a secure place to put the bikes ready almost as soon as we got off the bike, everything was hassle free. Special thanks also to Mandy for helping out with bike bag transport to the airport. Hotels were all good, and the food above expectation, both in quality and presentation, with any unusual dietary requirements easily accommodated. The change in final day arrangement to allow us to avoid having to pack bikes at the airport was a great idea and allowed for a much more relaxed final evening. Overall a fantastic holiday.

Stunning Alpine scenery brought to life by a top class mountain guide
Best of Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn

This is an inspiring and challenging journey-of-discovery that covers snow-capped peaks, awesome glaciers, lush green valleys and impossibly blue lakes. Two or three days require good levels of fitness so it's worth preparing accordingly. Sophie the mountain guide taught us a huge amount about the geology, geography and plant life, as well as providing great tips on safe, high Alpine trekking. Some huts/hotels were better than others, but the food was always great.

We did it!
Classic Tour du Mont Blanc
The mountain heights seemed intimidating but the hikes - looking back the way we walked - were nothing but amazing! The places we stayed in were good, the meals and baggage were taking care of. We just needed our day pack, lunch, water and took lots of pictures. Our guide, Gary, was attentive, gauging our physical condition and gave us water breaks or rests. Everyday, he went over the routes we were to take and approximate time the group would take to get there. He didn't mind repeat answet ing our questions on where would be the next point on the route. I really enjoyed the experience and the group from three different countries became very good friends.

A true adventure
Tour de Monte Rosa
A wonderful trip. If you want a varied but challenging trek through some of the most superb scenery that the Alps have to offer, then this is worth serious consideration. Personally, I found this more challenging that the KE ‘Ultimate Tour du Mont Blanc’ (UTM), which I walked last year (2015), but that might be to do with the fact that the TMR is ‘unsupported’, so you need to factor-in carrying your gear for the full duration of the trek. Having said that, the extra effort is well worth it. There is a mix of nights spent in hotels and in mountain refuges, with 4 consecutive nights in refuges on the Italian side, and the variety and contrasting vibe in each of these is all part of the charm. Generally, the standard of food and accommodation was very good, and, in some cases (notably Rifugios Pastore and Gabiet, and the Hotel Hannigalp in Graechen), superb. The literal ‘high point’ was Rifugio Teodulo (at 3317 metres), on the Swiss-Italian border between the Matterhorn/Cervino and the Monte Rosa, and the food and beer here tasted pretty good (even if the wash facilities were the most ‘rustic’). Hiking down from here, across the Theodul Glacier, and on, down and down, into Zermatt, gives the iconic postcard views, but throughout this trek you will be in the midst of 4000+ m high peaks and walking some truly exhilarating sections of trail. At lower elevations the path takes you through alpine meadows and forests, to the chirping of grasshoppers and the clank of cowbells, and through beautiful ‘Walser’ settlements and tidy small towns such as Macugnaga and Alagna, but higher up the drama of the high passes and rocky traverses takes over. Here we encountered ibex and chamois close at hand, as well as seeing true alpine rock gardens full of gentians and King of the Alps, and even the occasional edelweiss. So the scenery and the trail itself are awesome, but what about the people? Our group was a really eclectic one, but a privilege to get to know and to spend time with. Emma, our guide, also made this another superb experience for me. She had led the Tour du Mont Blanc in 2015 (see my review for KE’s UTM trip), so when she e-mailed to let our previous group know that she would be leading the TMR this year it sealed the decision for me (I’d already set my sights on the TMR). Emma is fun to spend time with, but is also a true professional; tuned-in to the needs and capabilities of each individual group member, and someone I trust implicitly to take the right decisions. Thanks to KE Adventure Travel, Emma, my fellow trekkers and the TMR itself, for an unforgettable experience.

Stunning trek in the Atlas mountains
One Week Mount Toubkal Trek
Wow! What an experience! It's very challenging, yet rewarding trek. Unforgettable scenery from every mountain pass, village and valley. It is advisable to do some training before this one, to enjoy it to the full. The guide and the cook were fantastic. Any meal during the trek was miles better than anything served in the hotel restaurant before the trek. The gite at the end of the trek is fabulous, such a reward after long distances, ascents and descents and 4 nights camping . It can get ve ry cold during night and at high altitudes, especially when a thunderstorm hits (happened 3 times to us)! Waterproofs, thermal layers and -5c comfort rated sleeping bag is no exaggeration, even at end of August.

A great weekend break
Bulgarian Summits Weekend

a great weekend trip. The walking on day two was challenging but worth the effort. day three was a shorter walk and we were grateful for it. We visited the monastery on day one which meant more traveling. I would have preferred to have a look around Sofia on the day we arrived. The hotel in Bansko and Sofia were very good. the KE reps were excellent.

A life-affirming experience.
Walking in the Balkan Borderlands
The Balkan Borderlands trek was amazing. This was my first KE Adventure (and it certainly won't be my last!). Our guide, Semir Kardovic, was so knowledgeable and professional, always looking out for everyone in the group and providing little 'moments' - we all remember him collecting mushrooms to make a sauce for supper one evening. And how did he manage to get us to the end of our walk one day seconds before a rain storm, we think he even planned for there to be a wedding when we visited the 'Lady of the Rock' island in Kotor- he is incredible and a credit to his homeland.
A combination of a well-organised trek, a group of inspirational people and many memorable moments. Highly recommended.

The trip of a lifetime
Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
Our trip was well organised. Airport transfers to and from Cusco airport were prompt. Our extra nights stay in Cusco was no problem. Most of all, the Inca Trail trek to Mach Picchu was brilliant. Tents, porters and especially the food was top notch.  We had a great guide in Neptali from the local operator who taught us so much about each archeological site, saving the best for Machu Picchu itself. As a Peruvian with Quecha blood, he was passionate about his subject. I have no problem re commending this trip to anyone who wants to see one of the world's wonders. It really was the trip of a lifetime.
