A beautiful place
Patagonia - The Classic Paine Circuit
Although we didn't have the greatest weather we were still able to experience and appreciate this incredibly beautiful part of the world. Sure we may have missed out on some scenery, but being able to cross the John Garner Pass after a 4AM wake-up call and under rain, snow, mud, strong and biting winds and near whiteout conditions was nevertheless an experience we would not trade for anything. We certainly wouldn't have been able to do it without our guides, Hernan and Francisco, who w ere amazing in every way, and the porters and crew who were always friendly and helpful. We were blessed with a great group and many friendships were made. Food was always good and plentiful and the Eco-Dome experience was wonderful as well. Advice for future groups is to have really good rain gear and lots of layering options as you may experience all four seasons in one day and it can certainly get chilly. A raincover for your backpack may only go so far. We kept our layers and other gear in dry bags within our backpack. Our guides used a heavy duty garbage bag to line the inside of their packs, which worked as good or even better.

An outstanding Road Cycling trip in the sun
Tour of Gran Canaria
Every time I think about booking through another travel company I get nervous about whether they will live up to the standards of KE so the solution is obvious......book through KE and remove the uncertainty ! This was another excellent trip with the usual friendly and helpful support from the office staff prior to departure. I have to say I was a little uncertain about Gran Canaria as an "adventure" destination but once you get away from the main coastal strip the scenery in the mount ains is stunning and the island is a great destination for walking, road biking and mountain biking. The guide Ray Leddy is a road biking guru and all round raconteur of some distinction who has the uncanny knack of making hill climbs in 30c seem easily achievable, he even managed to arrange that we would be riding on the same route as Alberto Contador on Day 2......or maybe that was just a coincidence ?? If you're looking for great scenery, sinuous climbs on smooth tarmac, sunshine and a great itinerary then book this trip.

Adventure of a lifetime!
Everest Base Camp Trek
Trekking to Everest Base Camp with KE was the best adventure I've ever had! Our guide, Milan, was very professional and would make sure any of the group who were struggling were looked after by himself or one of our Sherpa guides who spoke good English. Milan would watch you like a hawk for any signs of altitude sickness!! We always seemed to get the nicer tea houses too despite traveling during the busiest seasons of October and November. The only negative was the food: although it is conv enient to have all food included in the price of the trek, there is very little choice if your stomach can't handle large amounts of carbs and starch (unless you like rice and noodles for every meal, then It's great!). Overall, the scenery was amazing, the other trekkers in my group were all friendly like-minded people, the experience was life changing, and luckily I didn't get any altitude sickness so made it to both Base Camp and Kala Patthar - the hardest thing I've ever done, but so worth it!! Would travel with KE Adventure again.

Fantastic week of challenging cycling and perfect mix of culture/history
Jordan End 2 End Bike Tour
Anas was a fantastic leader and the whole trip was as brilliant as expected. Amazing food, great accommodation with only one exception really which was fine. Well structured trip. Don't be put off by the short distances if you like a challenge as the climbs are something else! I do a lot of cycling and at time this was harder than the Alps! You need to be a fairly confident cyclist as some of the roads are quite busy. the majority of tarmac was amazing too, real treat, but as you'd ima gine there were some squiffy bits too but not much worse than home! Winter days are short hence the distances are just right to ensure not riding in darkness. There is not a huge amount to do in the evening so make sure you pack some playing cards!

Tough fulfilling trek
Dhaulagiri Circuit via the French Pass
This was a great trek, with beautiful mountain scenery, and almost mediaeval villages along the way. The 3 days over the French pass, in the Hidden Valley, and over the Dhampus pass were hard but stunning. Negatives - the porters were pretty mischievous at first, the rest days at the highest altitudes didn't work out, the beds in the 'hotel' in Jomsom were rock hard, and the dust in the Kali Gandaki was seriously heavy duty. But all is indelibly seared into the memory banks, inclu ding a huge lammergeyer passing 10ft overhead to check us out.

a brillant well organised trip with a great guide Belbina
Mount Roraima and Angel Falls
overall the trip is a great experience & you are looked after extremely well & safely. Erics hospitality & organisation goes over & mostly beyond requirements. Our guide ,Belbina, although this being her first trek with an english group coped extremely well & managed to get us to understand her & was able to understand us although she kept apologising for her lack of english, which was reasonable good to start with and improved day by day. The 1 1/ 2 days at the coastal beach resort was a much appreciated bit of R & R to finish the adventure off On the down side the agent who met us in Caracass & changed dollars to bolivares gave us an extremely poor exchange rate, to say the least, compared to everywhere else we got them changed & I feel he took advantage of the situation on our arrival in Caracass. The guides & porters on the walks were extremely helpful & the food was mainly good & plenty full with the exception of one night after walking up on to mount Roraima, which was the longest ,hardest day & we were only given soup. With regards to the situation in Venezuela this should not put you off this tour with KE adventure as it is well organised with your safety in mind

Good but Cold
Dhaulagiri Circuit via the French Pass
Enjoyed our time on the trek - the flights and arrangements worked well and the trek leader Jagan (apologies for spelling) was charming, efficient and very knowledgeable. He really did his best to make the trip go well! The issues he had to deal with - some dodgy porters early on replaced by donkeys, difficulty with too small camping sites etc., he dealt with quietly and efficiently. The catering team were excellent - never easy to cater for 13 Westerners at 17000 feet but they did well! I don&# 039;t want to see another egg for a while but hey hoe! Things that could be avoided - the route description is not very accurate and could do with updating, the camp sites notably the Japanese camp is too small and the Dhaulagiri camp uncomfortable. Marpha was a charming village unlike Jomsom which was anything but! Dust was a predominant feature of the last few days, sadly our flight out of Jomsom was cancelled so we had an 8 hour very dusty mini bus trip that is not recommended but sadly unavoidable in the circumstances! The last day was rather clouded by the 'Katmandhu Trots' so we left with relief! To be recommended but not for the faint hearted!

Amazing Trip - Perfectly Organized!
The Ultimate Everest Trek
Just returned from 3 weeks in Nepal for the "Ultimate Everest" trek -- and ultimate it was. While I had underestimated the challenge (and the cold), it was an amazing adventure. The mountains, landscapes, and people of Nepal are impressive, and everything was perfectly organized by KE. It was my first KE trip but definitely won't be the last. Bracketed by a couple days in Kathmandu, we spent about 10-11 days making our way toward the Everest Base Camp, which was the official goal, but along the way we summited two peaks over 5000m and crossed the challenging Cho La pass. If one just wants to go to Base Camp, there are shorter, easier treks, but if you really want to experience the Khumbu area, with EBC and much more, then this is the trek. Everything was included and arranged, so no hassles or unexpected expenses. If I had any complaint at all, it would be that the suggested warmth level of the sleeping back and down jacket were underestimated. It gets cold at night and the lodges are not heated. This is no luxury trip, things are quite basic (especially the toilet facilities) but it is an authentic Himalayan experience that will not disappoint. While I'm happy to be back in my warm, comfortable house, I'm already thinking about the next trip, based on how well this one went...

An excellent way to see Jordan
Jordan End 2 End Bike Tour

The road trip through Jordan was challenging, especially with the heat and not for the faint hearted! The group mixed well and supported each other well. The intinerary was good and the historical asides including a day in Petra helped to make the trip enjoyable. Thoroughly recommend!

A walk to the roof of the world
Everest Base Camp Trek

My recent trip to Everest Base Camp was an amazing experience. The breathtaking scenery has to be seen to be believed. The KE rep Rajhendra and the sherpas were excellent and very knowledgeable and helpful one of our guides was an Everest summiteer so we had the very best of company to help us. All in all a fantastic experience and I have already booked my next KE holiday.

EVERONE should do this trek!
The Juniper Trust Schools Trek to Namche Bazaar
For me, the objective of undertaking this trek was twofold - first and foremost I relished the opportunity to personally witness the results of the fantastic work the Juniper Trust has undertaken (and continues to do so). It was an overwhelmingly unique privilege which I find difficult to express in words. Secondly it served as a means of helping me recover from a particularly difficult patch in my life, giving me a challenge and purpose on which to focus that wasn't all about myself. Likew ise, the trip itself can be clearly divided into two very different sections. The first part was the trek from Jiri to Surke (just South of Lukla) where for days the only other people we saw were local Nepalis, both at the schools we visited and passing through their settlements. This for me was what I like to call "The Real Nepal" giving us a taste of how these remarkable people manage with so few resources; friendly, beautiful people always with a smile and a greeting, always keen to share what little they have with strangers. At each school we visited, we were treated like Royalty, with such enthusiasm and generosity that it was a humbling experience. Western children could learn a lot from their Nepali counterparts. The second part of the trip served the same purpose as the first, but the difference here was marked. We were now on the official tourist route from Lukla towards Everest Base Camp, so it was a much busier walk, meeting fellow trekkers from all over the world. It also gave an insight into how hard the locals work to support the tourist industry, experiencing both people and animals carrying unbelievably heavy loads of supplies up into the higher altitude areas. In all, we visited nine schools, witnessing the extensive work that the Juniper Trust has achieved, using only volunteers and hard work, and providing much needed local employment. Abhishek and Yalambar were the two local volunteer project managers who have both made a profound impact on the lives of the teachers and children of their beautiful Motherland. Our two great guides, Man and Jumba, were both excellent, attentive and knowledgeable. Three local porters carried our gear, for which we were all grateful. Last but not least my sincere thanks go to Glenn Rowley, the driving force behind the project, and the trek leader. Long may his enthusiasm and drive continue. If you get the opportunity to go on this trek I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Long live Dhal Bhat!!

Walking good .Guide average

Found all the walks except, the final one really spectacular and enjoyed the diversity. They gave the amount of challenge expected .Our feeling about the guide are that he was more interested on external occurrences. A huge amount of time spent on phone and walked so far ahead that we could not engage and on occasions could not establish where the path was. He during the early part of the week was disengaged. We felt that he preferred cycling and walking did nothing for him. At the end of the we ek Friday he tried hard to be part of the group. We were very happy with accommodation in the second hotel lovely rooms and views and understand that we needed a resort style one first to access the walks it was satisfactory .

A great adventure visiting Oman, a Middle Eastern jewel
Oman Adventure Trekking
The tour struck a great balance... between camping and hotels (with a hotel day between 6 days camping) and between sightseeing, walking and driving. Result was a very fulfilling insight into Oman. The team of 5 (a guide and 4 drivers) were outstanding, worked really hard to create our holiday and demonstrated real kindness and attentiveness to our needs. Food was excellent, water plentiful, advise and guidance clear. The campsites were varied from desert, to beach and plateaus. Mostly quiet exc ept the beach were parties from Muscat played music half the night (best take ear plugs). Temperatures in camp site varied and very cold some nights... and will get colder depending on date of trip. We eat outdoors so best take a down jacket and layers for your legs. First full day of walking is in an area of very sharp rocks so would suggest trousers. Ladies need to check dress code guidelines for suitable clothing in order not to offend. Swimming in gorge and wadis was a real highlight. Check times of sun rise and sun set and don't miss out. Enjoy watching shooting stars.

Walking, Wadis & Wet-Wipes
Oman Adventure Trekking
A great 10 day trip with a nice mix of sight-seeing and walking. Good combination of longer and shorter walks, and some lovely wadi pools for taking a dip in when it got too hot. Hanna was a great guide; we were very well looked after by him and the team of four drivers, and always very well fed. All the walks are optional as you can always go in the 4x4 to camp if you ever fancy a day off / don't fancy the 1800m climb up onto the Selma plateau... (but it's a great walk so try not to m iss it!) Previous reviews have mentioned a desert camp as an alternative to the big walk in the second half of the trip - but we got to do both; after Nizwa we camped in the desert with an amazing sunset, and then up early the next morning for sunrise & short drive to the start of the big ascent walk. And camping on the beach is a great way to finish the trip off (before a much needed shower back in Muscat - don't under-estimate the amount of wet-wipes you will get through - it is a bit of a dusty trip!)

Amazing experience
The Juniper Trust Schools Trek to Namche Bazaar
This is a unique and extra special trek. You have the opportunity and privilege to trek in remote areas where most of the time you are the only Trekkers on the mountains. At the same time you can see for yourselves the work of the Juniper Trust. 100% of the money goes directly to the work in the village schools; seeing where your money goes with your own eyes and the welcome you receive from the children I defy anyone not to cry tears of every emotion. To trek in the remote mountains with such a unique purpose is a trek not to be missed. Abhishek is the guide who worked out the route, leading the trek. He also is behind the project, identifying some of the schools and ensuring the work is carried out, all as a volunteer - a exceptionally kind and generous man. The kit list was perfect, I would just add shorts as essential due to the warm weather and steep ascents. This trek is suitable for anyone with good all round fitness and stamina - not to be missed, thank you to Abhishek, Glenn and the KE team. I also appreciated the KE "chat with us" online button. The team respond promptly and professionally to any query., a five star experience from booking to returning home.
