A sensory smorgasbord!
Vietnam from North to South
From beginning to end, this trip did not fail to excite and impress. The variety of experiences was huge. From the tranquility of the countryside and homestays in the jungle, where many aspects of life may not have changed in generations to the crazy, busy cities. The food was excellent everywhere. Our local guide, Hien, was outstanding and went out of his way to ensure everyone enjoyed the best and most authentic experience of Vietnam. For sure, it is a "full on" busy holiday with a lot of ... travelling and not much down time. At times the heat and humidity took what was a moderate amount of exercise and exertion up several notches. We arrived a day early for the tour and would recommend a visit to Hoa Lo prison (Maison Centrale) in Hanoi (not included in KE trip) which gives an account of 150 years of Vietnamese history and which complemented organised visits to Cho Chi tunnels and museums in HCMC - all were thought provoking and at times, emotional experiences. In the main, however, the tour celebrated the wonderful and varied country that Vietnam is today. Top tip: pack super lightly - there were opportunities for quick, cheap and easy laundry along the way... Highly recommend.

Sun, sea, and seafood
Timeless Trails of Portugal's Algarve
A good relaxed week walking with a good dose of November sunshine. Set off around 10 each day and back to the accommodation mid-afternoon - not too long, but some climbs up and down inlets each day. Good sea views and opportunity to dip in the sea from time to time.

Sleeping accommodation was comfortable and warm while central area provided a welcoming place for everyone to gather.

Food was really exceptionally good. Evening meals had lots of tasty vegetables along with meat or fish.
... Rolls for lunch had tasty salad bits and pickles along with meat, cheese or tuna. Breakfast had an ample selection of fresh fruit and yogurt; meats and cheese; rolls; and on many days Pastels de Nata.

Fabulous trip. Well organised trip from beginning to end.
The Ultimate Everest Trek

We visited the Himalayas 26years ago but this trip exceeded our expectations so thank you. Phurba was an amazing guy who looked after us and genuinely cared about how we were all getting on. There were a few of us with some minor illness and he looked out every day to see how we were improving. He was very supportive and I felt totally confident and safe with him as my guide. A holiday I shall never forget.

Annapurna Sanctuary and Poon Hill Trek

Competitive pricing, good routes, good local guides, good use of local amenities. Package including flight is less hassle if any issues.

Sujan is a knowledgeable leader with a vast knowledge of his country and culture and the mountains. He was able to deliver the information in interesting ways that allowed us to understand many aspects of Nepal. He also has a lovely sense of humour and obvious caring and compassion for the group and crew as a whole.

Unique and Wonderful Trip
Timeless Trails of Portugal's Algarve
So many good things to say about this trip. Topmost are your hosts for the week, Violetta and Jonathan. They have created a compound consisting of the main lodge (eating and relaxing space) and a series of cottages for the guests. While we were double occupancy our cottage had two bedrooms. The cottages are not fancy but perfectly suitable for our purposes. The property is set in the countryside, great for viewing the stars and feeling away from the rat race.

A unique feature of this trip
... is that your guide is also your host. Jonathan was extremely friendly and competent. He’s just a great guy. He went out of his way to enhance the experience, even offering body board surfing in the ocean, which was a gas for three 70-plus year olds. Jon and his daughter Izzy (more later on her) started by giving us a lesson on doing it properly. They also supplied wetsuits and actively helped us catch the waves. This was a fun experience after a day’s hike.

Violetta, our hostess, was wonderful. So personable and helpful. She is an incredible chef (“cook” would not do her justice). I attach some pictures of her delicious artistry. She is generous in sharing recipes.

We got lucky. Their adult daughter Izzy offered us 30 minutes of stretching each morning before breakfast. For three not very limber guys, this was a hoot. It was a sweet thing to offer us, but she, like her parents, is a sweet person.

The hikes are rated appropriately. 9-10 miles a day generally, with decent but not onerous elevation. Kind of perfect for a relaxing week. The scenery is beautiful and the walks along the beach were spectacular. The Algarve is a special place.
Our trip was the first week of November and the weather was perfect for hiking. Daytime temperatures at 70 every day, with cooler but not cold nights.
Thank you J, V, and I for a memorable week.

Amazing treks in the best parts of the world. Great team in Keswick looking after you before you go and then brilliant guides and Sherpas whilst on the trek. Our trek crew were amazing. What the cook made for us was unbelievable.

It was a GREAT experience
Trek Madagascar, The Land of the Lemur
This was my first trip with KE. It was a GREAT experience. Consequently, I have already recommended KE to several friends. Our guide, Niry, and driver, Jean, were wonderful. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic trip. The local park guides and porters were excellent as well and wanted us to really experience their country, including sharing fried locusts with us. The trip was well planned. I particularly loved all the hiking and camping. I really loved the night hike to the ... top of Mount Imarivolanitra to watch the sun rise. It was glorious!

Cycling Tour of Rajasthan - India
Cycling Tour of Rajasthan
We thoroughly enjoyed this trip and considered it an amazing experience. It was our first time to India and we were so pleased to be exposed to the "real" India and not transported around in a sanitised manner. The schedule was busy and engaging and our guide was extremely informative and always considering our welfare. As far as we could see, everything ran smoothly and whilst there was often a discussion with us regarding our preferred option, this was always agreed and implemented perfectly. ... Group dynamics were fantastic and we had a fabulous trip which we will be talking about for a long time.

Everything about the holiday worked well
Curzon's Trail and the Kuari Pass
Good advice when booking, pro-active contact at different stages before holiday. Transport was good but on way back to Haridwar driver was pushing it a bit even by Indian standards. Camping element was excellent, really good crew, chef in particular.Walking guide set a good pace. Again everything just worked so well. Sunny was a good mediator with support crew, excellent in towns explaining what was going on which made this aspect of tour good. On the trek Sunny’s skills and attentiveness ... were prominent. My trip highlight was 9 days on trek and not seeing 1 other group on the trail.

Great itinerary packed with variety and loads of interesting experiences. Good value for money. Difficult to select a highlight as the whole trip was so great. Particularly enjoyed staying at the eco lodges and walking in the Namunukala Range.

Fantastic Morocco Cycling
Road Cycle Tour of Toubkal
We really enjoyed this trip, great cycling, amazing views and really good company. It's a superb way to see this fascinating country, lovely locals who make you feel so welcome and the children cheer you along your way! Accommodation is simple but full of character and we had good food most of the time. There was a mini bus support and a guide on a bike who looked after us well. Overall good road surfaces, except where there has been earthquake damage.
Some suggestions to others:
Definitely a
... trip to recommend; take a quite a few snacks with you, some are provided but mainly just dates and nuts; you need local currency to buy snacks, coffee and other drinks, Euros are not accepted when you're out of Marrakesh; also worth taking a few spare inner tubes; weather varies - we had mostly perfect weather, around 23 - 25 degrees but one day was very windy and another we had a really big storm with wind, rain and lightening, as we were up in the mountains it was very cold, so do take some warm gear and waterproofs.

Cycle Madagascar
Cycle Madagascar - Highlands to the Coast
We have enjoyed all the trips we have done with KE. taff always replied promptly and answered the questions. A great trip with a varied itinerary. We always knew where the support vehicle would meet us and when it was very hot and we were struggling at the back of the group he drove behind us --we felt very supported. Kanto is a great leader --of both his team and the guests. He speaks good English and has a great sense of humour. He is knowledgeable about his country and loves to answer our ... questions and inform us of all aspects of Madagascar. Kanto is very enthusiastic and loves his job --and it shows.

A challenging trip offering incredible scenery making the steep uphills, downhills and ‘Nepalese flat’ worth it. Everyday has so many highlights and exceptional memories it’s hard to find the words. The Himalayas are wonderful and I’m so happy I’ve experienced this adventure.

Gosainkund and Langtang Trek
Gosainkund and Langtang Trek
It was our first family trek to the Himalayas but we doubt it will be the last. It's a tough first few days, LOTS of steps but acclimatisation was good with no major issues. Most of our group had met on previous KE trips which is a good indicator as they keep coming back! The hike up to the Laurebina La & Gosainkund was challenging (but doable) and incredibly rewarding - absolutely stunning views as the big peaks open out in front of you and quite emotional (relief maybe?)! The Langtang Valley ... is deep sided with a raging river, much busier with trekking traffic & watch out for the mules! As it opens out towards Kyanjin Gompa, you are surrounded by snow capped mountains - it is a feast for the eyes.

Normally, we organise everything ourselves and stay away from groups & organised tours. KE were very easy from bookings, to questions, to the website and we would happily book with them again. Lovely hotel at the start and the end of the trek - transfers were super easy and the itinerary was as expected. Tea houses were good (if basic, but to be expected) and food was always plentiful.

Naresh was outstanding - always a smile on his face, great sense of humour, very experienced and nothing was too much trouble. Naresh, Ram, Manos & Bhupal along with the porters made an exceptional team. They were always on hand (literally in some cases where the terrain was rough), all care deeply about their country and were very happy & grateful that support was going to some areas devastated by the 2015 earthquake.

We would jump at the chance to be guided by Naresh again - he was always there, with a big smile and a friendly greeting. He took a huge amount of time with everyone, never tired, never said no, nothing was too much trouble. He was very knowledgeable and had a great relationship with the other guides and porters. He looked after everyone. On the day we were due to go up Tsergio Ri, we woke up to snow. Not a problem he said, lets start and see how we go. Some of us turned back after a few hours but for the 3 that were keen to get to the top he made that happen. Our son (16 years) was one who wanted to keep going and we had no hesitation of allowing him to head up with Naresh & Ram. He had organised plenty of porters / guides to ensure that everyone stayed safe and felt looked after.

Amazing African Adventure
Botswana Wildside Lodge Safari
What a great adventure this was! There were so many incredible moments and highlights during this two week adventure. The (optional) helicopter flight over the Okavango Delta is well worth it as you get to see the delta from a totally different perspective and can appreciate the scale of the landscape - plus it was my first helicopter flight! Being poled along the river in a Mokoro is an experience itself. It was very relaxing and peaceful, there were hippos in the river, and a small family ... group of elephants came down to the river to drink, just magical. The hide at Moremi Game Reserve was a highlight for me - we spent over an hour watching elephants coming down to drink at the waterhole. Other highlights include seeing a male and a female leopard together (which is a pretty rare sight), and watching a family of African Wild Dogs relaxing by the den which I haven't seen before in the wild. We stayed in a mix of accommodation throughout the trip and I particularly loved the permanent tented camps at Moremi (Elephant Pools) and Nata (Nata Lodge) - the tents were huge and luxurious with everything you needed, including an open air shower. Elephant Pools is a small safari lodge and they really look after you incredibly well - everyone was very welcoming and friendly, and the food was fantastic, plus you get to watch animals at the waterhole while having a beer. Our guides Lloyd and Svenja were great. They were approachable, welcoming, passionate about wildlife, and very knowledgeable about the countries we visited, and the animals and birds we spotted. They took extra care to ensure I was well catered for as the only vegan, and I really appreciated that. There was lots of fresh salads, fresh fruit salads, and freshly prepared dinners - they even got soya mince, chick peas, and tofu so I had some protein! And they made sure the food was prepared and cooked separately from the meat dishes. They made a great team and I really enjoyed their company during the two week trip. I would have liked an extra day or two at Victoria Falls as there is so much you can do there, so if you have the time it might be worth stopping another day or two. There are a few long driving days to get from A to B but don't let that put you off, it's a great trip and I can recommend it.

A great trip which although not very technical provided a great deal of enjoyment. The bikes we hired were in good condition helped by the skills of Mustapha who came with us and was able to fix any problems quickly. Faruk is very experienced and knowledgeable.

Breathtaking
Annapurna Circuit and the Thorung La

In so many ways, this trip is breathtaking, not least from the altitude (going over 5,000m more than once). The views are out of this world, the level of challenge is significant (without quite being overwhelming), and the team guiding and running it are first rate. Don't underestimate the difficulty, but also don't shy away from challenging yourself because it's totally worth it.
