Great
Traverse of the Jotunheimen
Great trip, fantastic guides, Jakob and Sofie are a great team and have a very easy style as leaders. Weather can and does seem to change every minute of the day so be prepared for anything. Do not under estimate this trip I would rate it above a 7, I've trekked in many countries including Nepal, India, Pakistan, Corsica etc and even though you don't have the higher altitude the daily distances are a lot further in general between 15 -27 km on very rocky paths. Fantastic mountain huts. ....more like a 5 star hotel, great food, hot showers, beds and a very expensive but tasty beer!

Memories that will last a lifetime
The Great Southern African Lodge Safari
, I wanted to thank you for the most incredible 3 weeks. My husband, son and I joined the tour which began in Livingstone on 30th July. I don’t know where to start ........ Our guides Phumi and Petros were outstanding in every way: their professionalism, high quality care, knowledge, organisation and enthusiasm were second to none, and I would be grateful if you could pass on our thanks and comments to them once again. The accommodation and the meals provided by the guides were superb. We part icularly enjoyed the tree house accommodation. We loved the opportunity to interact with the local people too. This was made possible especially during the two nights camping on the Okavango Delta and the walks with the San Bushmen. Other highlights included the safari drives, especially in Etosha, and the Chobe River Game Cruise and the sand dunes of Namibia. There was nothing we did not enjoy, and we would not hesitate to recommend your company to others or to use you again in the future.

Huayhuash Heaven
Cordillera Huayhuash Circuit
We had excellent weather but windy at times. There are a few steep downs but the trail is generally in great shape. Campsites are incredibly scenic but usually the campsite has lots of cow, donkey and horse manure. In fact the entire trail is very scenic with snow capped mountains and beautiful lakes everywhere. Nearly all the trail is above the tree line. The food is okay but very salty. Even the fried eggs for breakfast are salty. Most snacks are sweet--either cookies or candy. I recommend bri nging your own snacks. Crew support is wonderful. I highly recommend this trek.

Inca Ruins
Choquequirao to Machu Picchu

Nice trek with marvelous Choquequirao ruins, sleeping on Inca terraces at Picha Unuyoc, etc. Weather did not cooperate, but the days with views were great. Guide Daniel was great. Trails at slippery when wet.

Dramatic mountains, and amazing monuments in Samarkand
The Ultimate Fann Mountains Trek

The Fann Mountains have dramatic scenery and beautiful blue lakes. They are well worth visiting despite being fairly hot (most of my cold weather gear never got used) and having quite a few horseflies! The staff were extremely friendly and likeable and we saw few other trekkers. Neil did a first class job of looking after the group and was excellent company as well. Samarkand is hugely impressive (though very hot in August) - and in fact I stayed on to explore more of Uzbekistan.

Well organised, super fun for all the family
Slovenian Family Adventure - Julian Alps
This was our first time with KE Adventures. The whole holiday, from webchatting, through to booking and then travelling was top notch and all went very smoothly. It made the holiday effort-free (apart from the physical aspect of some of the activities!) and therefore relaxing from start to finish. The Hotel Spik was in a fantastic location in the alps. There's a campsite next to it, with a handy mini-market there, plus a childrens' low ropes course. We upgraded to the 4* rooms, which w ere much more modern, spacious and had a balcony and mini-bar (useful fridge for chilling water bottles and beers!) No tea and coffee facilities though, which was much missed. Maybe take a travel kettle if you like a regular cuppa. We managed to get adjoining rooms for us and our daughter. The food was buffet and plentiful choice. But note, no English breakfast tea at breakfast until the weekends! So if you need a morning cuppa, take your own! Swimming pool area was lovely, great pools and jacuzzi open 9am-9pm, plenty of reclining chairs for all. A nice terrace outside the pool for sunny days. Extra charge for sauna/steam rooms. Charge for towels (we took sporty lightweight towels, easy to dry). Spa treatments rooms on 4th floor - We had a massage on the last day and it was excellent. Drinks in the hotel were reasonable. You can drink the tap water in your room. But they will not provide tap water in the dining room at dinner time. You have to buy bottled water, quite expensive at 2.5euro for 500ml. There is plenty of water at breakfast, ionized and flavoured with citric fruit, lovely. The staff were helpful, English generally good. Our KE guides were great. A little formal and serious to start with (I think that's a Slovenian trait), but they soon got to know us and they were excellent. Their local knowledge was great. Nothing was too much trouble to ask. They were available at all times, even when they had left the hotel they were happy to us to call them if necessary. All the activities were superb and so well organised. The walk direct from the hotel up to see the waterfalls was amazing. Quite challenging in places, but an easy pace. You get to refill your water bottles from a mountain stream pump. The youngest member of our group was 10, and did find this walk quite hard, but still managed a swim in the pool at the end of the day! The white water rafting was our highlight. Exciting, slightly terrifying (I was sitting at the front!), but a fabulous achievement for me especially as I didn't think I would be brave enough to do it! We didn't need base layers, as it was 30 degrees that day. You don't need your own shoes either, you get given a pair of boots, plus sleeveless full length wetsuits and a life jacket and helmet. The water is 12 degrees so pretty fresh. Didn't need warm hats or gloves or waterproof trousers either. We did take waterproof jackets out with us each day, and used them a couple of times as the weather can change very quickly, even in August. All in all a fabulous holiday and we would definately book with KE again.

Camels on the Beach Family Morocco Holiday

This was a great holiday which all the family enjoyed, a combination of wonderful beaches, great food and camel rides for the children what more could you want from the holiday. Also KE and the local guide (Mohammed) were so friendly throughout the trip. We wil definately be back for another KE adventure.

Walking in fine mountain scenery, with a historical purpose.
Walk to Freedom across the Pyrenees
The mixed weather was to be expected in a mountain environment and added both atmosphere and challenge to the route. The overnight locations were relevant and the food was excellent and representative of the region. Sadly the walk had to be curtailled due to the group's fitness, but the guide took the right decision and identified a suitable alternative day walk. The guide's suggestion to cycle to Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges through th Garonne valley on the rest day was a rewarding exp erience, with enough of a challenge and an interesting destination. This holiday has inspired me to complete the Walk to Freedom at a later date.

Stunning mountain scenery and fantastic refuges
Traverse of the Jotunheimen
This is a brilliant trekking holiday, which navigates a really beautiful route through the Jotenheimen National Park, taking in a wide range of stunning scenery, from high snowy peaks to lush green valleys with alpine flowers. The terrain can be challenging at times, as some valley paths are quite stony and wet, so make sure you waterproof your boots and that they have good grip. The accommodation is excellent: the mountain refuges are cosy and comfortable and provide very good food, so everyone can really rest and recharge properly after each day. Snacks and alcohol in the refuges are expensive, so I would recommend taking your own chocolate supplies - and going teetotal for the week! Personally, I found some of the walking quite challenging, due to the need to carry everything, and the rough terrain in places, but the challenge was definitely well worth it, so go for it! Our guides, Jakob and Sofie, were really excellent and looked after us all very well. An excellent trip, which I highly recommend.

Excellent hut to hut mountain trek
Across the Julian Alps to Triglav
This is a really excellent hut to hut high mountain trek, culminating in a reasonably challenging ascent of Triglav. There is a good amount of ascent and/or descent on each of the days, so quite consistent in terms of effort. Beautiful scenery and flora. Our guides - Boogie and David - were excellent. Very professional, good company and both helpful and considerate of the varying degrees of fitness and age in the group. KE needs to update its route itinerary - we bypassed the Skrbino pass as we were told that this hasn't been used for a few years by the guides because of the state of the scree; also, our last hut before Triglav was Planika rather than Kredarica, which also meant that the ascent is done from the south rather than the north. The huts ranged from very good to satisfactory. Razor and Komni, on nights two and three respectively, were the pick of the bunch. All were friendly and service was good. Tips for others - water limited and only one three minute shower available, in middle of week on night three, so take plenty of wet wipes; availability and range of food can also be quite limited so would recommend taking vitamin/isotonic tablets for adding to drinking water for added nutrition/energy, also other food supplements as desired e.g. fruit, nuts etc. All in all a great trek and highly recommended. supplements as desired.

2nd trip even better than the 1st!
Traverse of the Jotunheimen
What a great trip, and what better advertisement for Norway. A stunning place to hike, made all the more memorable by the lodges. Big thank you to Jakob, and Sophie. The trip notes don't really do justice to the winter conditions you can get on the highest peaks. Travellers should pack for -2 degrees on the summit, and some significant snow fields. Most walkers should NOT be relying simply on a summer waterproof jacket!. Armed with this info, others should enjoy it all the more. If there wa s a sixth star rating, I would have used it for this trip!

one of the best remote walking vacations i have had
Mount Mgoun Winter Ascent

This was a winter trek but unfortunately there was hardly any snow... however.. the waking in the Mgoun area is awesome, its remote and breathtaking, little discovered by the outside world and I think one of the best areas to feel remote in. Absolutely loved it. When we returned to the gite in Happy Valley the staff had prepared a haman, the experience of getting so luxuriantly clean was unbelievable memorable. Highly recommended.

Superb adventure holiday
On the Tapas Trail - Family Active Holiday

What a fantastic week! From jumping into whirlpools to hikes up stunning rocky passes to swims in beautiful sandy coves... Rosanna our guide has completely converted us to the delights of Northern Spain. The only thing she didn't arrange brilliantly was the weather, but a bit of drizzle every now and then never hurt anyone! We have an 8 yr old and a 14 yr old and they both loved it too.
