Great family outdoor adventure
Slovenian Family Adventure - Julian Alps
Family of 5 (kids 8, 10, 12), first time booking a fully organised adventure holiday. A friendly call with KE team 2 weeks before departure and we were set to go. The days were brilliant, a good balance of activity with very little travelling. I think all the families left the holiday totally smitten with the outdoors of Slovenia. Our guides, Ales and Jernij, were fantastic, funny, encouraging and professional, the kids are already missing them. A holiday with like-minded families and similar ag ed children, created the perfect recipe for new friends and great memories; totally recommend this holiday. Hotel: stayed in the 3* section, food was fine, rooms clean & basic, swimming pool(s) great, good play areas for the kid to enjoy in the evening. Only feedback, the beds were OK, lacked a bit of comfort. Optional things to bring: if you like tea bring your own tea bags, padded cycling shorts, walkie-talkies What we didn’t need: water purifiers or torches

Fantastic wildlife experience
Costa Rica Family Adventure
Great fortnight in Costa Rica, seeing no end of wildlife and birds- which we knew very little about before our trip. We saw crocodiles, turtles laying eggs on the beach at night, lots of monkeys, sloth, toucans, humming birds, vultures, quetzal and many more birds, whales, dolphins, turtles mating in the sea not to mention lot of large insects eg ants, millipedes, spiders. This was all in the varied and impressive landscape of Costa Rica which is tropical rainforest including the coast of Carrib ean sea, Pacific ocean, mangrove waterways, volcanoes ( though cloud obscured our view that day). We had variety of activites some were included, others extra eg zip wiring, high bridges crossing rainforest, visited chocolate plantation with lots of tasting, tortilla making and surfing lesson. Little earthquake included too. The distances travelled were not too far, climate great with delicious tropical food esp fruits. Lots of rice and beans every meal if you want! We were the only family on our trip so had our fantastic guide, Daniela, all to ourselves, not to forget our driver Johnny. They made all the above happen and be so special for us. Highly recommended trip ( though current exchange rate with US dollar/ Costa Rica colon) made the extras rather pricy.

My best mountain scenery trip ever!
K2 and Concordia
I have spent my leisure life in the beautiful mountains of Western Canada, we are very fortunate to have lots of remote wilderness, wildlife and spectacular mountains. I have also traveled to spectacular mountains in other parts of the world. That being said, the size and concentration of massive mountains covered in year round glaciers in the Concordia/K2 region are unbeatable. If you love mountains and you are in good shape and are willing to work for it then this is a once in a lifetime trip! I would also like to complement KE Adventure's Pakistani partners, they continually went above and beyond all of our groups expectations. They took care of all the on the ground details, personally participated in all the tours they arranged for us, took care of our needs including foreign exchange and got all 8 of the trekking members window seats to view Nanga Parbat on the flights to and from Skardu.

Excellent adventure
The Ultimate Fann Mountains Trek

A great trek with superb and varied food throughout with fresh fruit and veg every day. Good catering for vegetarians as well. Lots of snacks in between. We were looked after really well by Danny, our cook, Faysaboy our interpreter, Nasridin our guide and Natalie our UK leader. They all worked really hard to ensure we had everything we wanted and went beyond their duties on several occasions. Fabulous walking and incredible locations for lunch and camping. Samarkand stay was equally fabulous.

Great Value and a Great Time Outdoors
Tour de Monte Rosa

Are you seeking a strenuous outing in a beautiful setting? If so, you should consider the Tour de Monte Rosa Trek. The terrain is varied and everyday is interesting. You walk on high mountain trails through two countries (Switzerland and Italy) and experience unique mountain destinations. Because the tour is challenging you will not be overwhelmed by hordes of other trekkers. This is a a first-rate alpine experience. I recommend it without hesitation.

Mountains and Bears
Canadian Summit Scramble
If you enjoy impressive mountain landscapes then this trip is for you. The Rockies are certainly impressive with their limestone/granite summits, extensive wooded landscapes and unbelievable turquoise coloured lakes. There's a fair bit of ascent each day but nothing too strenuous and the current trip rating is about right. Strictly speaking the use of the word "scrambler" in the holiday title is a bit misleading as there's not really any actual scrambling to do so make sure y ou read the itinerary to ensure that it's what you're wanting to do. Some of the days are to climb to a summit whilst others are to viewing points such as Passes. As they mainly consist of day trips there's the flexibility to change the itinerary in case of wet weather which can be common as in any mountainous area. Accommodation is fine but mainly in hostel-type accommodation so it's important to understand that you'll be sharing with others and possibly in mixed-sex dormitories. Ear plugs are therefore important items to pack away! One night is spent in a mountain hut which although basic has all your needs and is situated in a fantastic setting. Indeed, when we spoke to local hikers they were pretty envious of us so it's obviously a very popular place to stay. Apart from the impressive scenery there's a fair chance of some good sightings of the local wildlife. Whilst there's no guarantee of seeing bears we were fortunate on a few occasions. It's something which is a main attraction in the Rockies and there's plenty of signs on the trails about being 'bear aware' with the guides carrying bear spray - just in case! It's not all about bears though as there's plenty of deer, squirrels, marmots etc that you'll likely spot. If you go in the summer the flora is also spectacular with a wonderful spread of flowers to be seen. The kit list is probably right so nothing else to add. There is plenty of opportunities to do some laundry so you don't necessarily need to take two weeks of clothing with you. If you're travelling in the summer make sure you take mossie spray as they can be a bit of a pest. Depending upon the time of the year as well it's possibly a good idea to make sure you've water bottles or other drinking equipment to allow 2 litres of water to be carried as there's not a lot of opportunities to get water on the trips. Where it is available is best to carry some water purification tablets as recommended in the trip notes. It's unlikely that you'll have the same guides as we did on the Aug 19 trip but Phil and Patrik were exceptional in looking after us. They worked tirelessly in preparing both breakfast (and on quite a few days dinner) as well as leading us on the hikes and driving us around. It's important therefore to be prepared to muck-in and help with the washing-up, packing etc as the guides are very busy. The trip notes don't give any recommendations on the level of tipping but we gave around 5 dollars per day to each guide so if you do end up having two guides (two are required when there's more than 6 trekkers) it's a fair proportion of your overall spending money. On the subject of spending money the recommended value of around £300 is about right but you might need a bit more if you're buying beers or selecting the more expensive menu options in the restaurants. Everywhere however takes credit/debit cards so I wouldn't recommend taking more cash than the recommended amount. Tipping of course is a big part of the dining culture in North America so be prepared to add on an extra 15 to 20% to your dinner costs. Also be aware of the local tax that's added to any goods that you buy which isn't included in the advertised cost. In summary, exploring the Canadian Rockies is a wonderful experience and definitely worth a visit if you've always wanted to visit this part of North America.

Inca Trail and Amazon - an amazing South American adventure!
Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
My wife and I have recently returned from an 8 day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu trip, with the added bonus of a 3 day Amazon rainforest extension. I could not recommend them both highly enough. It's hard to take it all in when you are travelling but when we sat down on our return and went through our pictures we realised what an incredible trip we had just been on. We are lucky enough to have walked in some amazing places and the Peruvian Andes is right up there with the best of them. Anyone who has a passion for mountain walking would love the Inca Trail. I was worried about the Trail being overcrowded but we were pleasantly surprised how quiet the Trail was - no doubt due to the daily permit restrictions. My main advice to any walkers would be to try and spend a couple of days in Cusco prior to the trip. We had no altitude issues and I think this definitely helped. I know it's not possible, due to time and expense, to add the 3 day Amazon rainforest extension onto the trip but we are more than glad we did. We have been on some wildlife excursions in the past where you are slightly underwhelmed by what you see - this was the exact opposite of our experience. I don't think we ever expected to see as much wildlife as what we did. Overall we both feel incredibly lucky to have had a holiday experience like the one we have just returned from in Peru.

Really fun family week
Family Adventures in the Algarve

As a single parent, I was nervous about going on this trip but needn't have worried: I wasn't the only single parent and the hosts are so welcoming, warm and inclusive. The kids formed a tribe with the others as soon as we arrived, so their entertainment was pretty much taken out of my hands. We had a relaxing week, tried some activities we wouldn't have otherwise and were really well looked after. Tip: take a hoodie! we went in late July and the weather was cool and breezy.

Fantastic
Family Adventures in the Algarve

We spent a week here in July/August 2019 with our children aged 9 and 11, and it was one of the best holidays we have ever had. The activities were great, the food was outstanding but the real key was the passion and enthusiasm of the hosts, and the positive energy that ran through the whole week. There was always somebody happy to talk to/play with the kids so the adults could totally relax (or could play too!). We have returned home refreshed, inspired and hoping for another trip next year!

A really spectacular trek
Trekking the Turkestan Mountains
The scenery is stunning - alpine meadows surrounded by high peaks and glaciers - and the walking every day was very varied. But also, as the camps are fixed with a team of staff based in each one the standard of the camping and in particular of the food was exceptional. The highest I've ever experienced. The whole trip was extremely well run and it made for an excellent holiday. And even the weather was close to perfect - hot in the cities but actually very pleasant once you are up in the m ountains. I highly recommend it.

Great group. Great route. Great leader
Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn

Take your own lunch snacks as now not included. It's a classic route and NOT suitable for unfit or inexperienced walkers. Some exposed parts NOT good for anyone with vertigo or unsure in the mountains. If you get Sophie to guide you, all will be well!

Highly recommended
Rural Romania and Backroads of Bulgaria
An excellent holiday with a good range of walks mixed with visits to monasteries, quiet villages and attractive towns. The walking was challenging at times but the best experiences generally require some effort! The scenery was breathtaking and the rich diversity of plants in the alpine meadows was a highlight. Accommodation was better than I had expected, en suite rooms were the norm, and food was varied and always tasty. Our guides were first rate and overall this was a truly enjoyable fortnig ht.

Excellent Trip
Self-Guided Walking on Mallorca
Went seamlessly - normal KE really. There were four of us and we took taxi from airport to day 1 hotel in Alcudia well worth it and seamless saves time and hassle after the dawn flight from Leeds! Had been before myself few times, once with KE on organised trip and twice on my own. I knew my way round other than Day but instructions and maps were ok but recommend getting your own proper larger scale map of Walks in Tramuntanas so can also go off piste. Hotels excellent .. monastery unique .. vie ws and walks superb and recommend to anyone as the Mallorca we see on this trip is just wonderful. Suggest get bus or taxi last day from Palma to the final hotel as walk boring and is a long way too! The hotel at the end was brilliant lovely each or hotel pool so worth getting there ASAP! Likely do it again and even again!

Wonderful hiking trip with a lovely group and guide!
Walking the White Mountains of Crete
This was my first hiking tour with KE Adventure and I am very pleased to have chosen this trip. Alice, our guide was brilliant. - she was very knowledgable, informative, kind and funny - which helped make the trip so memorable. The hikes were varied, so the week was interesting. Though some treks were quite challenging they were worth it because of the views. I was glad that I had strong soled boots and walking poles as I needed them on the two mountain hikes as the terrain was sometimes steep a nd rough. Although we did walk through snow at the top of the mountains we certainly didn't need gaiters etc. Just a warm top and wind sheeter. The rest of the time I was comfortable walking in shorts and t-shirt. The hotels were lovely, clean and all with fantastic food. Two of the hotels were by the sea and swimming at the end of the day was fab - make sure you take swimming gear. I have visited Crete before but it was marvellous to see another side to the island, away from the tourist resorts. Most of the places we stayed were only accessible by boat or foot which made them very special. Thank you KE for a very well organised trip made even better by the good company of my fellow trekkers!

A great adventure, excellent organisation and a good level of challenge.
Gran Paradiso Weekend
Superb accommodation at Yeti Lodge with helpful and friendly staff. Excellent views and facilities. A well organised expedition with very good guide, Stefano. Superb scenery and support with equipment. We had superb weather and formed a great team. Ascent of Grand Paradiso was fabulous. Unfortunately we could not traverse all the way from Helbronner to Aguille de Midi due to conditions on the glacier. We did however do a very enjoyable two hour walk exploring the area. Excellent meal on return t o Yeti Lodge. Thanks to all concerned.

hiking, castles, beer and wurst
Self-Guided Walking in Bavaria

This holiday is for those looking for hiking adventure mixed with small-town German charm. The hiking can be as hard or easy as you like on most days (you can take a cable car as wanted/needed). MAKE SURE you reserve your castle tours as soon as possible when you know you are going on this holiday. And finally, end each day of hiking by enjoying comfortable hospitality and traditional German food.
