Good Enjoyable Experience
Paradise Trails of Bali, Lombok and the Gilis
Great to experience these places in/around Bali, but prepare yourself for plenty of time sat in the mini bus. I felt at times there was unnecessary travel which was time consuming. Some of the itinerary could be altered to suit needs. - The temple visits definitely could be reviewed, as you spend hours traveling just for a small walk around the site. I expect most would rather spend longer in Ubud as there are more attractions to visit. All in all it was a great holiday, and like any KE Travel e xperience, expect to live out of a suitcase and move accommodation frequently. Some of the hotels were fantastic, we found we would only spend 1 night, and where we would have a couple the accommodation, seemed basic. The early morning walk is worthwhile, yet it’s a steep climb, for a good 90mins, recommend a decent level of fitness. This trip is worth doing, I rate KE Travel as this is our 3rd trip with them.

Excellent support
Ultimate Albania Cycling Tour

Excellent support from all staff at KE in Keswick. Excellent support from Niku and Vanny (support vehicle driver etc). Nothing was too much trouble and Niku and Vanny were expert in their knowledge of routes, local history, all the way to providing medical attention for minor accidents. Super job.

Fabulous Türkiye
Self-Guided Walking: West Lycian Way
Superb self-guided walking holiday. The day walks are all great, but the star of the show is the day from Faralya to Sancakli which has some truly fabulous sections of trails, pretty meadows (keep an eye open for the wild tortoises wandering slowly around), breathtaking mountain scenery and beautiful forrest. A long time since I’ve done a walk as enjoyable as that. We saw red squirrels, tortoises, the most amazing blue butterflies and even a family of wild boar that ran across the track 20 met res in front of us (if only I hadn’t stopped for a “comfort break”, I’d have had my camera to hand!) All baggage transfers worked faultlessly, and all pick-ups by a driver at the end of the day, where we weren’t finishing the walk at the accommodation, were on time and where we were told they would be. Special mention to the Montenegro Motel in Faralya (beautiful wooden bungalows that were so cozy and great food) and Beymelek Tas Evler at the end of the trip (superb food, lovely quaint rustic pension, and we even went picking green beans, peppers and herbs with the owner that his wife later used to cook us a delicious lunch). Tips: 1. The first few km of the walk out from Fethiye to Kayaköy is the least scenic part of the trip. I suspect it’s a way of getting out of Fethiye and on your way. 2. On a hot day, the “extra” optional walk from Kayaköy to Ölüdeniz is harder than you might think. It’s worth doing if you feel up to it, as the views on the descent to Ölüdeniz are fabulous, but having already walked to Kayaköy, it’s worth taking stock before ploughing on to Ölüdeniz. Note, getting a taxi in Ölüdeniz back to Kayaköy was very easy, and cheap. 3. The route notes were very good, clear and accurate. Each to their own, but having checked the GPX files provided to the route notes before departure to make sure they were consistent (they were spot on), we pretty much relied upon the GPX files uploaded into the Outdoor Active app, and these never missed a beat (worth getting the Pro version though, so that maps can be downloaded onto your phone and airplane mode switched on to preserve battery life and data usage). We only really resorted to the trip notes to read background on the areas we were walking through, although I can comment on their accuracy and user-friendliness since, as mentioned above, I checked the GPX files to the route notes before departure. All in all, a great trip, and we’ll be looking to do the new East Lycian Way self-guided trip too, in the future.

The guide Dario was absolutely fantastic. He has inexhaustible knowledge of the culture and wildlife of the islands, had excellent recommendations for places to visit and was just generally a great person to be around. I cannot fault him.

So well organised
Self-Guided Walking: West Lycian Way

It was so well organised, great mix of walking, swimming, eating, sites. We couldnt believe that taxi's were actually waiting for us in the middle of nowhere, we thought at least one wouldn't show up.

Outstanding
Walking the White Mountains of Crete

I have only taken two KE trips - this Crete trip and Everest Base Camp - the Hard Way a few years ago but both trips were simply outstanding with excellent guides. Jean was incredibly well informed about everything and I loved his sense of humour. A joy to have such a relaxed and friendly guide.

Crete
Walking the White Mountains of Crete

Well organized, authentic areas visited, good accommodation and knowledgeable guide. Jean was instrumental in making sure I had vegan options at lunches and dinners and I greatly appreciated. He has a deep knowledge of the flora and the areas we visited. It also helps that he’s a cheerful type :)

Everything was a highlight
Victoria Falls to Cape Town

Outstanding support crew in Africa who made the trip so wonderful and memorable. I enjoyed the camping the most, gave such a feeling of being part of camplife and more engaged with the setting, especially the wild camps. Bradley is an outstanding Tour Leader and guide, he is knowledgable, polite, considerate, always good humoured and goes to considerable lengths to meet individual needs and requests. He deserves to have a great career in the tour industry.

Everything worked exactly as stated!
A Taste of Morocco
Driss was considerate, kind, very helpful and happy to engage in conversation over our many questions on the culture, history and other aspects of Morocco. He earns extra stars because the trip was made during Ramadan, meaning that he was operating without food and water for the whole day! We would also like to put in a word for Othman, our driver for the desert extension. Whilst not KE staff he also provided an excellent service, acting almost as a guide as well as a driver. He was a very safe and competent driver. We felt that the riads we stayed in were selected for being part of their communities, and that we were supporting local communities, especially in the Atlas and Essaouira.

Ibrahim is an excellent guide, considering and balancing all guests and hosts and has a great depth of knowledge of the terrain, history and culture of the region toured. An exceptional guide in all categories. I was especially interested in the history and he was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge. Ibrahim is a great asset to guiding on the trails of Turkey.

Breathtakingly stunning scenery on the Lycian Way on this challenging trail.
Self-Guided Walking: West Lycian Way
What a great experience this was. From being met at the airport for the transfer to our hotel in Fethiye, everything went like clockwork. The Minu Hotel was basic but clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The first days walk gave us a taste of the history of the Lycians and the Roman influence as we climbed away from Fethiye. We knew then that this was going to be no ordinary walking trail. We were given a great welcome at the Villa Rhapsody by Atilla and his wife Jeanne and their hospitalit y and attention to detail were second to none, and the pool was too inviting to resist. This was by far the best accommodation of the trip. The Montenegro motel and the Delfin hotel, Sardunya hotel, and also the two pensions were very good but the bar was set very high by the Villa Rhapsody. The Way gets serious with the climb up and around Babadag mountain, and the route notes and gpx routes were spot on. Also the red and white way markers are a great reassurance making navigation easier. We had a hiccup with a pick up point at Sancakli where the notes told us to stay on road after the cistern. A friendly local let us call Paul, the KE agent, and the driver found us within minutes. Paul also helped us again after l lost the route book at Delikkemer being engrossed in photography at the amazing aqueduct, left it behind!! Paul to the rescue again printed off the last two days routes for us when we arrived in Kas. The boat ride to Simena was spectacular on the last walking day and we had breakfast on the harbour at Kaleucagiz. The whole Lycian way experience was a joy for us all and we’d like to thank everyone for their help on our holiday. The only feedback that we thought you should take from us, and almost everyone we met on the trail was that the Lycian Way isn’t a walk in the park and needs full concentration at all times especially around cliff edges by the sea on the latter stages where some scrambling is needed and if wet is very slippery. Thanks for a great trip,we will be back for another KE trip. Chris, Mark,Andy and Carl.
