We have good news for you, as we have almost 200 adventure holidays to over 70 destinations for trips you could take in October. From road cycling in Cyprus to self-guided walking in Lanzarote, taking an overland journey to Everest from Tibet or simply summitting the Secret Sierras of the Costa Blanca. The list is endless.

Everest Basecamp Trek

The absolute classic Nepal walking and trekking holiday, we consider this the complete Everest Basecamp experience. A lodge-based trek you'll follow the legendary "Everest Trail" from the airstrip at Lukla. Nepal and the Himalaya are KE's heartland, and we include some extra days acclimatisation plus all your meals to make sure you have the most chance of successfully reaching Everest Basecamp as possible.

Ganesh Himal Panorama Trek

Close to Kathmandu and yet rarely visited by Western trekkers, the Ganesh Himal is a region of timeless valleys, quiet trails, sleepy traditional villages, luxuriant forest and carefully tended terraced farmland. Named after the elephant god of Hindu mythology, the Ganesh is crowned on its northern edge by four 7000 metre summits, including Ganesh I (7406m). Traversing this stunning region from west to east, our trek also provides great views of other peaks, including those of the Annapurna and Manaslu massifs and of the Langtang Himal. An entry-level Nepal camping expedition holiday with no internal flights and all meals on the trek included.

 

 

Around Mansalu Trek

A challenging trekking holiday around Manaslu in the Nepal Himalaya. Manaslu at 8163 metres is the eighth tallest mountain in the World. Situated close to the border with Tibet, some 100 kilometres north-west of Kathmandu, the valleys to the north and east of Manaslu were a restricted area until the early nineties when KE Adventure Travel were one of the first companies granted permission to take groups trekking into the region. There are remarkable panoramas of the peaks on the Nepal-Tibet border, as well as those of the Manaslu group. The scenery becomes even more impressive as we climb up into the alpine environment on the approach to the Larkya La (5135m), with big peaks on all sides. The principal peaks that we will see on this first part of our trek are Himal Chuli, Manaslu, Cheo Himal and Himlung Himal. A classic , stunning and unspoilt circuit.

The Laya Trek

We invite you to join us on our extended version of this iconic trek, which includes 4 additional days hiking in the peaceful Silque Valley and across the stunning Ancascocha Pass (4625m), where we are likely to encounter few other trekkers, before joining up with the classic Inca Trail and entering Machu Picchu via the iconic ‘Sun Gate’.

 

 

Choquequirao To Machu Picchu

Sitting astride a high ridge amongst the snow-capped peaks of Peru, the Inca fortress of Choquequirao is one of the most important discoveries of Inca antiquity; we invite you to discover the secrets of this abandoned city on this classic 2 week trekking holiday. . Our fully supported trek to this so-called 'Cradle of Gold' is by way of the awe-inspiring canyon of Apurimac River, involving an exciting descent and ascent of almost 2000 metres to reach our camp beside the citadel of Choquequirao (3000m)! We will have a full day to explore the ruins before setting off on a 5-day trek through the rugged and beautiful Cordillera Vilcabamba, a region dominated by impressive snowy 6000 metre peaks including Pumasillo and Salkantay. KILIMANJARO

October is a fantastic time to attempt the summit of Africa's highest mountain. KE has 5 trips on offer to conquer Kili - the main routes being the Rongai Route, Lemosho and Northern Routes. We use the longest routes ensuring that we have the essential acclimatisation for reach the summit. If you are going to take up the challenge, give yourself the best chance.

Our extremely knowledgeable team, in the KE Adventure office, has several people who have summited Kilimanjaro via different routes. A few staff members have summitted the mountain more than 10 times. Do please give us a call or drop us an email and we can advise you on routes, fitness and give you many tips to make your journey enjoyable as well as successful. With our help, plenty of your own determination and will power there is no reason that you can’t also join the group of Kilimanjaro summitters. We have picked out just one of our routes to give you a taster of what you could be doing in October!

 

 

Kilimanjaro Rongai Route

This Kilimanjaro trek takes us along the quieter Rongai Route. This is one of the most scenic trekking routes on Kilimanjaro, providing a gradual climb through forest, farmland, open moor and has expansive views northwards to Amboseli National Park in Kenya. As an aid to acclimatisation, we include a rest day at the idyllic Mawenzi Tarn Camp, beneath the imposing rock spires. This additional day on the mountain dramatically increases our chances of summit success as we are better adjusted to the altitude.
