Globally, over 300 million tonnes of plastic are produced each year, half of which is used once before being thrown away, and it ends up in our beloved mountains, rivers, lakes and oceans. We don’t want to be part of this problem. We're working closely with our partners to remove the use of single-use plastics across all of our trips.

To help achieve this, we’ve partnered with Water-to-Go to offer a discount of 12.5% on their filter bottles. Water-to-Go bottles are made in the UK and made from plant-based materials, not plastic. They are lightweight, durable and dishwasher safe. Each contains a removeable, recyclable 200 litre filter.

Water to Go's founder, Dave Shanks, previously headed a textiles company which manufactured clothing brands. On his many trips to countries such as India, Indonesia and China, Dave was horrifed by the growing mountains of plastic waste he saw. A large contributor to the problem was discarded single-use water bottles. Realising there was a technology that could provide clean healthy water almost anywhere and which could also reduce the environmental damage being done was the motivation to establish the Water-to-Go brand and business.

Water-to-Go bottles use advanced technology derived from the NASA space programme to remove over 99.9% of all microbiological contaminants in water. This means whether it’s from a hotel room tap or a river in a remote mountain range, all you need to do is fill up and drink to have access to clean water anywhere you go on your adventure. This removes the need to buy plastic bottled water at any point on your trip. 

The bottles are made from sugarcane waste and the lids, also UK made, are produced from recycled waste vegetable oil. All packaging is again UK made and is 75% recycled and 25% FSC virgin stocks.

The filters were developed with one sole purpose; to provide clean safe drinking water. Internationally tested and validated for over 14 years, they combine three different technologies to filter bacteria, protozoa,  viruses, heavy metals and harmful chemicals. You can remove the filter when not required and use the bottle as your daiy water bottle too!

We believe that this is the most sustainable eco friendly water bottle anywhere.

Since we started working with Water-to-Go we have calculated that by selling our KE branded bottles we have replaced 400,000 single use plastic water bottles - quite the fact!
