About Tom

Tom manages the Customer Sales and Support team. Although born and raised in Keswick it was not until attending Sheffield Hallam that Tom’s love for the outdoors really grew. He now realises how lucky he was to live in the heart of the Lake District and has set out to make up for lost time. A recent move over the border to Scotland has opened up an entirely new world of Hills and Lochs to explore whilst still allowing for a traditional after work Latrigg when in the office. Spells in the South of France and Caribbean gave him a taste for travel and he is happiest outdoors whether fell running, bouldering or walking. His first trip with KE was to the top of a snow covered Mount Toubkal and memorable trips to Peru and Madeira followed. It would be great to enjoy some of the classic KE Treks in the Himalaya soon or visit Patagonia for a view of the Fitz Roy Massif.

About Sarah

Sarah joined KE back in 2016 as part of our Customer sales and Support Team. Her own travels have taken her to Thailand for a 5-week holiday exploring what the country has to offer, the Inca Trail & Rainbow Mountain in Peru, trail running in Chamonix and a road trip in Italy from Bari up to Pisa enjoying the sights (and lots of gelato) along the way. Next on the list is Vietnam and Bali. Her KE Adventures have taken her to Macedonia, Albania, Morocco, Norway, Nepal and Turkey. Her favourite has to be cruising the Norwegian Fjords on a sailing boat; snowshoeing by day and searching for the Northern Lights by night. Recently Sarah has enjoyed her first taste of our Self-Guided range by walking the west section of the Lycian Way. A very close second behind Norway! She would love to travel to one of the Poles and see the wildlife in its natural habitat. Having lived in the Lakes most of her life, she loves to walk the fells on weekends and spend her holidays exploring further afield.

About Steve

Steve has been working in adventure travel since 2010 and is KE’s resident artist! Originally from Dorset, Steve’s lived in Keswick for 6 years with his family enjoying the outdoors as both walkers and runners. His favourite travels over the years include Canada, Thailand, Madagascar and Crete along with KE trips to Georgia, Spain and Mont Blanc. On the “to do” list is Norway and Japan. Hobbies include drawing pencil portraits, Tae Kwon Do (currently a Green belt!), running (road and trail), Red wine and watching Harry Potter, Star Wars & Lord of the Rings (again!).

About David

Running and cycling are David’s main hobbies, and he is on a mission to explore the roads of the Lake District, North Pennines and Yorkshire Dales on two wheels, as well as eventually tick off all the Wainwrights. Having completed two multi-day rides both spanning the length of England, David is also looking to ride the length of the UK and then Spain in the near future. On David’s bucket list for his next destinations are Norway, the Canaries and to head to Northern Spain to explore the Pyrenees.

About Dace

Dace joined the Customer Support Team in February 2016. Originally from Riga, Latvia, she has criss-crossed Europe, and also lived and worked in Portugal for sometime. Her favourite places are Patagonia, Ecuador, Peru and Cuba. Now on her list is to climb all the Wainwrights! Dace has been on 4 KE trips – a stunning Tour du Mont Blanc holiday, explored Amalfi Coast, did wine tasting in Burgundy, France, and climbed the highest peak in Italy. She would love to go to Central Asia and see Northern lights in Iceland one day.

About Rachel

Rachel Joined the KE team in August this year as a travel consultant, having grown up in the Lakes with a passion for the outdoors she is most at home out on the fells or exploring the lakes with her German Shepherd Sukey. Having travelled in Europe and lived in Greece she is keen to explore further afield following in the footsteps of her grandpa who was a very accomplished climber and a frequent traveller with KE. Her ever growing bucket list includes France, the Balkans, Patagonia, Pakistan and Nepal.

About Jayne

Jayne joined the KE Team in May 2014. Born and raised in the Lake District, she is happiest out on the Cumbrian Fells but her most recent adventures have taken her to Ethiopia, Costa Rica and Nepal. Australia and Cambodia are her next travel goals.

About Angela

Angela joined the KE team in 2012 and has held various roles before becoming our Customer Experience Manager. Her favourite travel experiences are reaching over 6000 metres on Stok Kangri in India, watching elephants on safari and running the Everest Marathon. Her pace of life is a little different since becoming a parent, but she still enjoys getting out in the local fells whenever she has the opportunity.

About Vanessa

Vanessa's passion for adventure travel began after spending her honeymoon camping on the ‘Inca Trail and Beyond' with KE almost 20 years ago. Following that Vanessa undertook trek to Everest Basecamp via the Gokoyo Lakes, a trip to India to witness the splendour of the Taj Mahal and a climb to the summit of Mont Blanc in the late noughties. She became part of the KE Customer Sales & Support team in late 2011. Since then Vanessa has joined a variety of KE holidays from staff travel to her own holiday time including; standing on the top of Kilimanjaro, re-visiting Nepal twice to Dhaulagiri basecamp and the Annapurna Sanctuary, climbing Mount Toubkal in Morocco as well as cycling around it. Highlights have included camping opposite one of the world’s most active volcanos; Fuego on Guatemala’s Magnificent Seven, floating on a junk on Halong Bay in Vietnam, surviving several TDF cols from Geneva to the Med, cycling the straight roads of Botswana alongside Buffalo and through the sand dunes of Namibia from Vic Falls to Cape Town and enjoying the warm breeze whilst riding from Bangkok to Phuket. Must do’s on an ever growing list are Pakistan, Madagascar and the Dolomites.

Daisy joined the KE team in April this year. Having grown up in the Eden Valley, she loves the outdoors – mainly walking up the fells with her 10 dogs! Daisy’s passion for travel really hit when she worked on board cruise ships for a few years with some of her favourite places being Alaska, Italy, Mexico and the Caribbean of course. She is always looking for her next adventure and would consider herself a holiday addict! Daisy is super keen to explore lots of new places, her top ones being Vietnam, Indonesia and a bit more of the US!

Originally from Hereford, Zoe moved to the Lake District to get into the fells and appreciate the quiet life. Her favourite destinations so far have been Bosnia, Florence, Tanzania and Slovenia. Zoe’s time is spent running, reading and trying to brave the rain in the fells, or else hiding in the local cinema. On her bucket list for her next travels are cycling in the Balkans, hiking in the Swiss Alps and exploring the Faroe Islands to see the Northern Lights.

About Lesley

Lesley joined KE Adventure in 2024 as Flights Manager and has 40 years experience in the travel industry. Since starting her career as a local travel agent, she has held many senior level jobs in Sales, Customer Support, Data and Contracting/Procurement. Lesley has travelled to 80 countries including most European countries, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Laos, Malaysia, Australia, USA, Morocco, Kuwait, India, UAE, Caribbean Islands, Mauritius and Mexico. One of her favourite countries is Thailand.

She recently got engaged at Kala Pathar, overlooking the Khumbu Icefall and has trekked Annapurna and part of Everest Base Camp. On Lesley's travel bucket list is Canada, the KE Safari Coast to Coast adventure and KE's New Zealand North to South trip. 

Aside from travelling and visiting family in Singapore, Lesley loves playing padel, golf and walking her Daschunds, Hilton and Hudson.

About Tim

After many years of travelling and leading trekking, climbing and biking trips around the world, Tim now works as KE's Operations Manager. He still gets out to join KE groups, with some of his favourite trips recently being to Kyrgyzstan and Bolivia’s Cordillera Real. In his free time Tim enjoys fell running, mountain biking, climbing and kitesurfing.

About Pete

With close to 100 trips under his belt, Pete is one of our most experienced staff members and a highly respected leader. Now based in KE's office, looking after Customer Services, he still manages to squeeze in the odd trip. His most recent trips include Minya Konka in the ‘Chinese Tibetan Alps’ and the high Tatras in Poland.

About Kerrie

Having previously worked in outdoor retail for a number of years, Kerrie has now joined our busy Operations Team. She brings with her a wealth of trekking experience from summiting Mount Toubkal to trekking through Jordan’s Wadi Rum. In her spare time Kerrie enjoys hill walking, running and dabbling in mountain biking.

About Michelle

Michelle joined the Product team in 2022, having previously been part of KE’s Customer Sales & Support team for over 5 years. She has enjoyed personal travels to varied destinations around SE Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Michelle has been on a number of KE trips as well as choosing some of our self-guided trips for her own holidays. Her favourite experiences included winter husky sledding in Sweden when she was lucky enough to be treated to a spectacular showing of the Northern Lights, and trekking on Reunion Island. High on her ever-growing wish list of destinations are Japan and New Zealand. When she’s not playing hockey with her local club, she loves to explore her Lake District back yard by walking, running and biking.

About Kit

Joining KE as the company’s first employee in about 1986, Kit has had lots of opportunity to travel. He has fond memories of KE adventures on foot and by bike in countries as diverse as: Morocco, Guatemala, Greenland, Jordan, Albania, Niger, Croatia, Nepal, Pakistan, Iceland, Sweden, Colombia, Bhutan, France, India, Greece… the list goes on. Cycling, fell-running, wild swimming, rock-climbing, fishing, photography keep him fully occupied at home in the Lake District.

About Chloe

Chloë was born and bred in Keswick, so a love of being out on the hills was instilled at an early age. Her first trip with KE was volcano trekking in Sicily and since then has summited Mont Blanc, travelled to Nepal, Morocco, India, Turkey and Thailand. She has even travelled up to Svalbard to see Polar Bears!

About Katy

Born and bred in Cumbria Katy loves all things outdoors. She is a keen runner and cyclist. Bitten by the travelling bug when she volunteered in Peru she has been working in travel and adventure ever since. Her love of travel has taken her to Asia, Australia, America and across Europe in her beloved campervan.

About Andy

Andy Joined KE back in 2018 and has had various roles within the company. He is now Sustainability Manager and Product Manager for family trips, and Southern African safaris. Andy is an advocate for nature and sustainability and loves spending time outdoors being constantly fascinated by the wildlife that surrounds us. Andy loves spending time with his wife and two daughters, mountain biking, hiking and running all over the Lake District, and retiring to their beloved campervan at the end of a day’s adventure. They’ve travelled around the UK and onto the continent in their van on summer holiday trips filled with sun, sea and sand. Andy and family have been on several KE trips including a Family Costa Rica Adventure, a full wildlife immersion for Andy and his girls to get lost in. Andy has also travelled on several occasions to the Americas and extensively across Europe, and recently returned from two trips to Africa. His first trip was spent travelling through Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia, spotting and generally being in awe of the big 5, and his second trip was through Rwanda including an incredible day trek to spend time with a troop of gorillas.

About Alex

Originally from London, Alex has been working in tourism for nearly 20 years, moving to the Lake District and joining KE in 2023. Alex has backpacked across Europe and Asia and previously lived in South East Asia where he worked for several years, designing and arranging cycling tours. His travel highlights so far have included witnessing a total solar eclipse in a remote corner of China. He also loved attending festivals in India.

About Anja

Anja joined KE in 2024 as a Product Manager and is thrilled to be helping other people to get out on travel adventures. Born and bred just a few miles away from Keswick, Anja has been immersed in the outdoors and travel from an early age. Whilst completing her degree in International Business and French, Anja lived in the south of France for a year. She went on to work in London in logistics, market insight, ecommerce, category management, and CRM, interspersed with travel at home and abroad. She now puts her skills and travel experience together to create something more meaningful. Anja is also a qualified UK Mountain Leader and Nordic Walking instructor, and has been doing her International Mountain Leader qualifications too. Anja loves running no matter what the surface or distance, and finds it even better when this is combined with travel. When not running or hiking Anja is a big fan of frolicking in snow, with Nordic skate skiing, downhill, touring, and snowshoeing being amongst her favourite sports. Anja has travelled in Europe, North and South America, Asia, and Australasia. Her current travel wish list includes Iceland, Patagonia and a return to Japan.

About Bex

Bex has recently joined the KE marketing team. She holds a degree in international marketing and a passion for travel that grew during her studies in Indiana and subsequent travels across the USA and Canada. Originally from Scotland, Bex moved to the Lake District 6 years ago and loves continuing to explore the area and surrounding fells. Her greatest joy comes from exploring new European cities and she is always planning her next trip. Bex is yet to embark on a KE adventure however her wish list is growing by the day. Visiting the Machu Picchu has always ranked high on her bucket list, making any KE trip that includes this a top contender. Exploring Iceland is next on her agenda!

About Rachel

Rachel has worked in marketing for around 20 years and joined the KE team in January 2023. She has spent time living in Austria and Germany, a year backpacking around the world and loves exploring new places. Highlight trips in more recent years include Argentina, Japan, Canada (seeing polar bears in the wild) and New Zealand, as well as many European destinations. In her free time Rachel loves to play hockey and go walking. Rachel has been on one KE trip so far – an amazing week long adventure climbing Mount Toubkal in Morocco and camping in the beautiful Atlas Mountains. She would love to explore more of South America or go to Kyrgyzstan one day.

About Tav

An adventure lover and outdoor enthusiast, Tav’s passion for travel started at the early age of 18 while travelling around Australia. Since then she has travelled and lived all over the world. She has explored the countries of South America including Peru, Bolivia, Patagonia, Argentina and Ecuador, travelled around India and Goa, explored Thailand and Malaysia in SE Asia and spent time travelling through various countries in Europe. She lived in the French Alps for a few years working as a ski guide and running a hotel for skiers and mountain bikers, before settling in the Lake District back in 2013. Tav has travelled on a number of KE trips with her top favourites including climbing the Volcanoes of Indonesia and skiing the Kings Trail in Sweden. Closely followed by her trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal and trekking in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Her biggest challenge to date was racing to the Magnetic north pole on skis across the sea ice in a team of 3 back in 2012. She dreams of cycling around the world (or at least from the north to south of New Zealand) and next on the bucket list is the Philippines, Vietnam, more ski touring and Jordan. Tav currently lives in Keswick with her husband and their two faithful dogs.

About Alasdair

Moving back home to the Lake District in 2018 Alasdair joined the KE Marketing team. Working as a sailor Alasdair has travelled all over the world, but his literal peak has to be proposing at the top of Kilimanjaro. She said yes and they honeymooned through Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. Alasdair likes a real mix of exploring the quiet Mediterranean coasts and the high peaks of the Alps. His ambitions are to stretch out and join one of the many KE trips to reach a 6,000m peak.

About Emily

Emily joined the KE team over a decade ago, being drawn to Lake District because of her love of sailing. Having previously completed a degree in Web and Media, Emily enjoys working with websites, video and all things digital. Her recent travels have taken her to Turkey, Costa Rica, Canada, Morocco, Japan and Vietnam. Emily has joined 5 KE trips, from traversing the ridges and summits of Bulgaria to walking the volcanic slopes of Ecuador. Her favourite adventure has been trekking in the remote and beautiful Albanian Accursed Mountains and she looks forward to hiking amongst the highest peaks in the Himalaya one day.

About Ella

Ella has recently joined the KE marketing team. She has always had a passion for travel, and knew after studying Marketing at University, she wanted to take time to experience the world. Her favourite place she visited on her backpacking travels was Vietnam but, also would love to go back to Indonesia and explore further. This past year, she has fallen in love with the Alps after skydiving and a road trip around Switzerland. When not working, Ella is making the most of her surroundings and enjoys hiking, swimming and paddle boarding when the Lake District weather allows it. Her bucket-list is constantly growing and priorities of places are consistently changing, but as of today she would love to visit Toyko, track gorillas in Uganda and hike more Alpine regions. Basically anywhere new!

About Gavin

Gavin joined KE in 2018, relocating from London with his family to give them some Cumbrian air. Favourite places visited or lived in: Peru, Botswana, Bolivia, Lesotho, Vietnam, South Africa, Nepal, Argentina, New Zealand, Croatia, Cambod – actually, even the highlights are too many to list. In the future: maybe back to Africa? Or Polar? Or Self-Guided Cycling near some vineyards?

About Jamie

After a successful IT career in Oxford and London, Jamie relocated to Cumbria in 2017 to pursue his passion for the outdoors. An avid fell and trail runner, with a particular love for ultramarathons of up to 100 kilometers. His adventures also include winter mountaineering and hillwalking in the Lake District and Scotland. Next year, he plans to tackle the Eiger 100k in Switzerland and the CCC, a challenging 100-kilometer race around Mont Blanc.

High on Jamie's travel and adventure bucket list are trips to the Himalayas, completing the prestigious UTMB 100-mile ultramarathon, and conquering the Tour des Géants. His past travels have taken him to destinations such as Vietnam, Thailand, Peru, Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, Oman, and Morocco.

About Martina

Originally from Slovakia Martina moved to Keswick in 2005 after travelling in the USA. Being a teacher in Slovakia she changed career direction in the UK to accounts, studying AAT for 3 years. Martina loves bringing her 2 children up in the Lake District with its stunning lakes and mountains right on her doorstep.

About Gemma

Originally from Yorkshire, Gemma has always had love for travel and the outdoors. She spent a year living abroad whilst studying for a degree in German and Spanish, and she has also travelled around New Zealand and Thailand for 6 months before joining the KE team back in 2012.
Since then she has taken part in a variety of KE trips including Via Ferrata in Italy, climbing Mount Toubkal in Winter in Morocco and exploring rural Northern Vietnam and Halong Bay. Her absolute favourite KE highlight, however, was having the opportunity to go trekking for Gorillas in Uganda!
Gemma is a real foodie too and loves trying out new food and drink wherever she is. She enjoys lots of different types of cuisine, but her favourite would probably be Italian.
When not working at KE, Gemma is a keen outdoor enthusiast and enjoys going hiking, climbing, running and paddling, so whatever the weather she is likely to be found somewhere out on the water or in the fells of the Lake District.

About Ashley

Ashley joined KE as CEO in April 2018. Having started as a trek leader in Morocco, he led more than 70 trips throughout Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Asia and Central America. He has always worked in adventure travel, and for the last 15-20 years as a director and MD/CEO. The lure of The Lakes and a desire to work with a really exciting product and adventurous (and hearty!) team has drawn him to beautiful Keswick and KE; a company he has always admired. His most recent KE trips were on a polar cruise to Antarctica and Mountain Biking in Morocco.
